Product Description:

A Majestic Expression of Burgundy's Finest Terroir - Located between the villages of Morey-Saint-Denis and Gevrey-Chambertin, Clos de la Roche is one of the most revered Grand Cru vineyards in Burgundy. The 2022 vintage continues the tradition of excellence for Domaine Dujac, a domaine that has established itself as a leader in Burgundy under the stewardship of Jacques Seysses and his family. Domaine Dujac’s focus on producing wines with exceptional fragrance, structure, and longevity is clearly evident in the 2022 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru, a wine that is a true testament to the marriage of tradition and innovation.

The vineyard's exceptional terroir, with its complex soils and varying slopes, gives Clos de la Roche its remarkable character. The soil composition ranges from angular limestone fragments in the western part of the vineyard to the finer-grained Premeaux limestone in the eastern part, contributing to the wine's depth and mineral structure. The careful handling of the fruit, with whole cluster fermentation and aging in 100% new oak barrels, ensures that each bottle reflects the unique essence of this Grand Cru vineyard.

The 2022 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru is built for long-term aging. With its firm tannins and complex structure, it will continue to evolve and develop in the cellar for the next 10-15 years, rewarding those who have the patience to cellar it. Drink from 2032 through 2050+ for the full expression of its complexity and elegance.

Maker:

Domaine Dujac, founded in 1968 by Jacques Seysses, is a beacon of excellence in Burgundy winemaking. Situated in the heart of Morey-Saint-Denis, the estate has grown from humble beginnings to become one of the most respected producers in the region. Jacques, inspired by his father’s love for fine wines and his own experiences with Burgundy’s great winemakers, embarked on a journey to craft wines that would reflect the unique terroirs of the Côte de Nuits. Today, Domaine Dujac remains a family business, with Jacques’ son Jeremy and his wife Diana taking the reins, ensuring the estate’s legacy continues with the same dedication to quality. The winery is known for its commitment to biodynamic practices and minimal intervention winemaking, allowing the pure expression of the terroir to shine through in every bottle.

Philosophy/Vineyard:

At Domaine Dujac, the philosophy centres on the belief that great wine begins in the vineyard. The estate’s 24 vineyard blocks, planted with Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and other Burgundy varieties, are farmed with the utmost care and respect for the land. Certified organic since 2011 and with biodynamic practices introduced in 2003, Domaine Dujac prioritises healthy soils and sustainable farming methods, using organic composting, straw mulching, and cultivating inter-row cover crops to nourish the vineyard and maintain biodiversity. The emphasis is on producing low-yielding vines that can develop deep root systems, allowing the grapes to express the full potential of their terroir. The estate’s commitment to quality is evident in every aspect of its vineyard management, with a focus on hand-picking grapes, careful pruning, and a minimal-intervention approach to winemaking.

The winemaking philosophy at Domaine Dujac is rooted in the idea that the vineyard’s work should be respected and preserved. Using indigenous yeasts and minimal handling, the wines are crafted to showcase the unique character of each vintage and terroir. The whole-bunch fermentation method, along with light pressing and extended maturation in oak barrels, results in wines that are elegant, balanced, and able to age gracefully. With a dedication to preserving the natural expression of their vineyards, Domaine Dujac produces wines that reflect both the philosophy of its founders and the evolving vision of the next generation. Through their meticulous approach to both viticulture and winemaking, Domaine Dujac continues to be one of the most admired names in Burgundy.

Tasting Notes
NOSE – Rich and Expressive
A rich, intense bouquet of dark fruits, including ripe plum and kirsch, with hints of spice and earthy undertones. Floral notes of peony and subtle touches of orange zest add complexity, making the nose both inviting and captivating.

PALATE – Elegant Structure with Depth
The texture is smooth yet firm, with a balance of richness and freshness. There are layers of raspberry, cherry, and sweet spices, underscored by a mineral-driven backbone that adds a touch of structure and refinement.

FINISH – Long and Persistent
The wine’s impressive persistence and refined tannins provide a satisfying conclusion. This wine is built to age gracefully, promising further complexity and depth with time in the cellar.

Reviews + Accolades:

From a 1.95 ha holding in 5 different climate. An expressive, ripe and airy nose features the relatively primary essence of plum liqueur, kirsch, spice and earth notes. The strikingly intense and sleek larger-bodied flavors possess only average concentration yet there is impressive power on the moderately austere and beautifully long finish that tightens up noticeably as it sits on the palate. I suspect that this will flesh out and add richness with time in bottle though like several wines in the range, this is going to require extended patience. Don’t miss, Drink: 2037+ - Allen Meadows, Burghound, 93-96 Points.

Rich dense purple. Gorgeously attractive if a little more restrained than the Clos St-Denis. Some of the traditional blueberry. So much in reserve. I prefer the weave of the texture here especially if keeping for the longer term. On the cusp of red and black fruit at the finish, and with excellent persistence. Drink: 2032+ - Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy, 96-98 Points.

The 2022 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru on this encounter was so pure and suave that one might have mistaken it for the Clos Saint-Denis. Offering up aromas of raspberries, cherries, sweet spices, orange zest and peony, it's full bodied, supple and seamless, with a deep core of fruit, sweet, powdery tannins and a long, sapid finish. There is more underlying muscle and tannin here, however, and I would be surprised to see that assert itself a little more obviously in bottle. - William Kelley, The Wine Advocate, 95-97 Points.

The 2022 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru has a little more intensity on the nose than the Clos Saint-Denis: principally black fruit laced with hints of licorice and clove and veins of blueberry and cassis. The aromatics expand with aeration, gaining vigor all the time. The medium-bodied palate has grippy tannins and quite a bold structure but may not have the precision of the very best that I have encountered. Very saline on the aftertaste - this will require time to shave its edges in bottle. Drink: 2028-2052. - Neal Martin, Vinous, 94-96 Points.

The 2022 Clos de la Roche from Dujac is a wine of impressive concentration, even if it is not so loveable at this point. It seems (along with the Clos Saint-Denis) to be a bit austere, but a ripe, plummy fruit opens up on the palate with nuances of smoke, earth and spice. Despite the slight austerity at this stage, this is impressively long, powerful, and nuanced, and one imagines sweet fruit will develop with time. The grapes are from their six parcels scattered throughout the climat, accounting for almost two hectares; the wine is now doing its second winter ageing in cask. Drink: 2030-2065. - Charles Curtis MW – Decanter, 96 Points.

Good quality
Size: Large, Color: Dinos Frills (Gray)
we’ve had many godog toys over the years and although my dog eventually rips through them I do find that they last longer than other cheap toys. Overall very well made!

Cute and fairly long lasting
Size: Large, Color: Dinos Frills (Red)
Lasted from Nov 13th, 2024-August 20th, 2025 lol very impressive. She played with it nearly daily and loved the big squeak. The squeak box was just ripped out so she probably won’t play with it anymore. Happy to order another!

He was OBSESSED!!!
Size: Large, Color: Dinos Frills (Gray), Size: Large, Color: Dinos Frills (Gray)
Our year and a half old lab was excited the moment he saw it come out of the box ! He had many toys that he tore into shreds within a day so this was his first “heavy toy “ that wasn’t easy to tear . I think he loves the design and feel of it , as he carried this thing EVERYWHERE and even to bed . Him and his sister share toys but this was his , he claimed it lol Now if it wasn’t for us telling him to stop trying to kill the Dino he could have easily tore into this thing within a couple of days . However since he started chewing gently he became obsessed with the squeaker , and used that as an alarm that he was up every morning in bed 😂 The quality of the product is actually pretty good but it’s not bullet proof, and our smart dog was able to sneakily tear a whole in the nose and some how pull out the stuffing . All in all I would definitely buy another toy from this company because they are made with quality for dogs , and lasted about three weeks longer than his average toys ! It was his favorite toy 💕

Not indestructible
Size: Large, Color: Dinos Frills (Gray)
When I googled “indestructible stuffy dog toys” this popped up. My 9 month old pup loves stuffies but destroys them quickly and eats stuffing if not caught quickly. Well, this indestructible toy is cute but my dog had it torn apart in under 4 minutes so…🤷🏻‍♀️

Great for Tough chewers!
Size: Large, Color: Dinos Frills (Red)
My dog is a tough chewer and absolutely loves this toy! He was able to get a little stuffing out of the leg so far and it’s been about a week. This might sound like a short amount of time but it usually takes him under 15 mins to unstuff a large toy even if they are advertised for “tough chewers!” This is a very large size toy and would be good for any larger breed. He carries it around the house and constantly keeps his Dino with him. Since Ive found GoDog toys I’ve only been purchasing them because of their durability. I’ve tried Kong and Bark toys previously and they just do hold up long and are usually more expensive. This toy is a great value and dogs love them!
