Synkopisch perkussive Rhythmen verteilten sich nun in die Hände und Fußsohlen der Menschen. Die Geschichte des Tango Argentino beginnt vor rund 150 Jahren und handelt von unterdrückten Völkern. Bis heute sind deren Klagen, Hoffnung, Kraft und Poesie in der Bewegung zu spüren, in der Musik zu hören. Es waren die Indigenen Argentiniens, die schwarzen Sklaven, die Gauchos und Kreolen, die den Tango ersannen, die ihm Sehnsucht, Zuversicht, den Lebenswillen einhauchten. In den Geschichtsbüchern sind viele mittlerweile vergessen, aber in Musik und Tanz, in Wort und Kultur, in Geste und Bewegung klingen sie weiter. Das Tanzen in Erde und Sand war die erste Form, dort wurde die Figur einer liegenden 8 geboren. Lange bevor die Städter, die neuen Immigranten und die feine Gesellschaft den Tango Argentino für sich entdeckt hatten. Der Gaucho ist die schillernde stolze Figur, die zum Compadre und damit zum Tangotänzer wird. Jorge Luis Borges war damals Zeitzeuge dieser Menschen und fasziniert von ihrem Mut. In diesem Buch geht es darum, diese ländlichen Wurzeln zu entflechten, zu verfolgen und erneut zu bündeln zu dem, was der Tango Argentino einst war. Ein eigenwilliger unvergleichlicher Tanz. Kein anderer Tanz der Welt webt sich in den Beinraum des Partners, ohne die Umarmung zu trennen. Kaum ein Tanz drückt mehr Eigensinn aus als dieser argentinische Tango Argentino. Und kaum ein Tanz webt mehr Mythen um seine Entstehung. Es wird Zeit, den wahren Ursprung aufzudecken.
