Das RS250 nutzt Bluetooth 5.0 mit Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) und hoher Bitrate, Qualcomm® aptXTM HD für hochauflösende Wiedergabe und Qualcomm aptX Low Latency für eine verbesserte Übertragungsgeschwindigkeit. Die 650 Watt Gesamtleistung erfreuen zwei 10 x 15 cm Tieftöner, vier 50 mm Mitteltöner und zwei 20 mm Hochtöner. Das Woofer-Gehäuse des RS250 wurde komplett in Sachen Verzerrungsreduzierung überarbeitet, dabei wurde ein benutzerfreundlicherer Bassregler hinzugefügt.
Das RS250 verfügt über ein Paar brandneuer, schnell ansprechender Digital-VU-Meter. Außerdem ist das System auch ein Roon Ready-Endpunktgerät, ferner kompatibel mit Google-Assistant und der Hi-Res-Wiedergabe von TIDAL HiFi mit 24 Bit/192 kHz.
Das McIntosh-Lautsprechersystem RS250 bietet u.a. HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC)-Eingang für besten TV-Sound. Ferner sind mit an Bord: 1x optischer Eingang, 1x MM-Phono-Eingang, 1x 3,5-mm-AUX-Eingang, 1x Subwoofer-Ausgang (RCA) sowie eine 6,3-mm-Kopfhörerbuchse.
