La MIPS è una tecnologia leader nello scivolamento all'interno del casco, disegnata per ridurre le forze rotazionali che possono derivare da determinati impatti. Quando la testa gira velocemente e si ferma in modo brusco, l'accelerazione rotazionale può provocare alti livelli di tensione nel tessuto. Lo stiramento del tessuto provocato da questi movimenti può dare luogo a diversi tipi di lesioni cerebrali. I caschi che adottano la tecnologia MIPS possono offrire un livello di protezione superiore in determinati tipi di impatto. MIPS usa un sistema di spostamento in piano che si muove nel casco.
