Das dunkle Ebenholz galt schon in der Antike als Inbegriff des Edelholzes und wird seitdem für besonders exklusive Holzarbeiten verwendet. Charakteristisch sind seine schwarzbraune Färbung sowie die feinen, deutlich sichtbaren Streifen, die dem Holz eine eindrucksvolle Textur verleihen.

Sie dienen zum Schutz des Holzes und bringen zusätzlich die Schönheit der individuellen Maserung ausdrucksvoll zur Geltung. Da es sich um ein Naturprodukt handelt, können Maserung und Farbe von der Abbildung abweichen.
