Bekannt wurde er in seinem Heimatland durch meditative Landschaftsaufnahmen mit einer geradezu kalligrafischen Qualität. Seine bislang populärsten Arbeiten sind Aufnahmen des berühmten alten Kiefernwaldes rund um den Schrein der Könige der Shilla-Dynastie in Gyeongju. Der Kiefer kommt in der koreanischen Kultur eine besondere symbolische Bedeutungskraft zu.Ausgehend von dieser Werkgruppe versammelt der großformatige Leinenband Fotografien des Meisters von Kiefern und Kiefernhainen aus 25 Jahren. Es wird dabei eine Auswahl der eindrucksvollsten Bilder gezeigt, in denen Bae, Bien-U sich dem Geist der Orte und Landschaften mit einer kontemplativen, koreanisch geprägten Bildsprache nähert, die auch durch westliche Ästhetik geschulte Augen in ihren Bann schlägt.

Daughter loved her gift…

The throw came in a box; it was very heavy. I did not open the box. I wrapped it instead. It was fluffy, and beautiful! My daughter loved it, it was one of the gifts she really wanted for Christmas. It is a great throw for a couch, and I’ve been told it’s warm, comfortable, and nicely made. The value for the price was also excellent. It’s beautiful; anyone would be happy to showcase this in their living room, and of course it’s highly functional - daughter says that it is so snuggly, warm, and the size is perfect!

Lovely Throw, But Falls Short of Luxurious
I really like this two-sided throw, with its plush fur-like material on one side and silky velveteen on the other. The texture is warm and silky, and the color complements my sofa beautifully. However, while it’s a nice blanket, it doesn’t quite measure up to the same size throw I bought a month ago from a local German “here today, gone tomorrow” store. That European snuggle bundle, priced at a single Benjamin, has my entire family stealing it from one another.
This throw could benefit from being a bit heavier, with a loftier fur side and thicker velvet to feel more luxurious—especially at twice the cost of the blanket we all love. ( black Friday/cyber Monday dropped it eight dollars) Without any discounts, the price feels inflated for what it is. It’s still a lovely addition to my home, but it falls short of five stars even at the discount price on the day of this review.

Grey Fluffy Blankie
