Besonderheiten: Der Kilchoman Batch Strength 57% ist eine kraftvolle Abfüllung der Kilchoman Distillery, die seit 2024 Teil der Kernrange ist. Dieser Whisky reifte in einer Kombination aus Re-Charred Red Wine Casks, Oloroso Sherry Butts und Bourbon Barrels. Nach der Reifung wurde der Alkoholgehalt auf 57% Vol. eingestellt, um die natürliche Intensität des Kilchoman-Charakters zu bewahren.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nase: Rote Früchte, frische Kirschen, Heideblüten und intensiver Torfrauch.
  • Gaumen: Toffee, reichhaltige Gewürze, Vanille und anhaltender Torfrauch.
  • Abgang: Seidige Viskosität mit frischen Crumpets, Butter und Honig.

Destillerie/Abfüller: Die Kilchoman Distillery, gegründet im Jahr 2005 von Anthony Wills, liegt im Nordwesten der Insel Islay und ist bekannt für ihre Farm-Distilling-Philosophie. Sie ist die einzige Destillerie auf Islay, die nicht direkt am Meer liegt, und die erste neu gegründete Brennerei auf der Insel seit 124 Jahren. Kilchoman legt grossen Wert auf Nachhaltigkeit und Qualität, indem sie einen Grossteil der Gerste selbst anbaut und malt.

I own a Buick with leather seats that look incredible, but are not comfortable on long trips, and my wife and I were preparing to leave on a 2200 mile round trip vacation. On the first day, we drove 700 miles, much of it through desert. We were tired when we reached our destination, but comfortable and cool for every mile of it. The sheepskins have made such a difference, that I have never removed them from the car. It is now July, with triple digit temperatures every day, surrounded by desert. The sheepskin keep us cool on every drive. I could have purchased sheepskin seat covers, but these provide the same comfort for a fraction of the cost. Yes, it takes a small amount of effort to adjust them when you first get into the car, but I don't even think about it any more. As far as the quality, there is no shedding, no smell, and no discoloration. We have put over 4,000 miles on the car since I put these in, and I have no complaints to register.

It’s alright, does the job as it is supposed to. It’s easy to use and helped fix my Uniqlo jacket that was all matted. It didn't restore it to it's original form however it did unmat it. The brush is strong and works well for fluffing it up because of the metal wiring. The only bad parts are that it can hurt if you accidentally poke or scratch yourself, I actually got cut by it when I quickly was brushing. It’s kind of hard to get the lint off the brush but it's better than others and might hurt because of the metal. But overall, it’s a cool tool that makes my jacket fluff again!
