This duvet looks exactly as shown on the Amazon website. I bought the white/white color and it looks and feels very fresh and fluffy, quite lovely. Though it is not overly thick, my intention is not to use it with a duvet cover but to tuck it between a sheet and thermal blanket with a wool blanket on top. It should function well as insulation on a cold night but also be comfortable on cooling autumn nights without the added wool blanket. I believe it will be very easy to use to use this way, rather than with the hassle of a duvet cover. Also, it will transition well from fall into winter. I know that it is machine washable. But as I own a HE washer, I do plan to launder it at the laundromat in a larger machine. It so fully covers my king sized bed that I fear it might overwhelm the HE washer. But I do like the generous size. I am so glad to have found this duvet at a great price. It was absolutely a value.
