Quivive Classic 1998 von Gigamic ist ein strategisches Holzbrettspiel, das mit seinen hochwertigen Holzspielsteinen und einer eleganten Verarbeitung überzeugt. Das Spiel richtet sich an 2 bis 5 Spieler und fordert taktisches Denken sowie vorausschauendes Planen. Ziel ist es, die gegnerischen Figuren zu isolieren und bewegungsunfähig zu machen, indem man seine eigene Spielfigur geschickt über das Spielfeld zieht und dabei geschickt Spielsteine entfernt. Pro Zug bewegt ein Spieler seine Figur orthogonal oder diagonal auf ein benachbartes freies Feld mit mindestens einem Spielstein und entfernt anschließend einen Spielstein vom Brett.

Das besondere an Quivive ist die Kombination aus einfachen Regeln und komplexen taktischen Möglichkeiten, die für einen abwechslungsreichen Spieleabend sorgen. Varianten für zwei Spieler mit jeweils zwei Figuren pro Spieler sowie Teamspiele für vier Personen erhöhen den Wiederspielwert. Rob's book was very useful to me, both in helping me gain better skills in underwriting basics (stabilization time period and how unit renovations and rent bumps are modeled/phased-in as well as when to start applying rent escalator) as well as higher level topics, like partnership structures, sensitivity analyses, and judging the returns. In all of these higher level topics I learned several new topics (and calculations to add to my underwriting) and would guess that even experienced investors would pick up a few quality nuggets in these sections.
