The KRK Systems ROKIT 5 Generation Five is the most advanced studio monitor in its class. Whether you’re working on a chart-topping hit, a film score, or a personal project, they provide the tools you need to capture every nuance of your sound with astonishing clarity. Part of the Fifth Generation of KRK ROKIT Studio Monitors, along with the ROKIT 7 Generation Five and ROKIT 8 Generation Five, their onboard DSP technology provides three distinct Voicing Modes. Mix Mode, with flat frequency and phase response, is best for mixing, mastering, and critical listening. Create Mode is a more inspirational voicing best used for writing, producing, and casual listening. Focus Mode is a mid-focused voicing for critical analysis of the midrange band where vocals and most instruments have the most energy. The three Mix Modes eliminate the need for separate sets of monitors for different tasks. It’s like having three pairs of monitors in one. The ROKIT 5 Generation Five also features 25 boundary and tuning EQ combinations that help minimize and correct problems in your acoustic environment, and with the aid of the free KRK App, they make setting up your recording environment easy and precise.

The ROKIT 5 Generation Five is fitted with a 5” woven Kevlar® aramid fiber cone woofer for superior damping and modal breakup control. The 1” tweeter benefits from a highly damped acoustic silk dome diaphragm to smoothly extend the frequency range up to 40 kHz. For maximum transient response and dynamics reproduction, bi-amplified Class D power amplifiers drive the transducers evenly and more efficiently at reduced operating temperatures to ensure audio integrity during long work sessions.

The world’s leading studio monitor manufacturer, KRK’s sonic accuracy and performance have made them the choice of professionals worldwide for over 35 years. Experience them for yourself, and you’ll agree–the KRK Systems ROKIT 5 Generation Five continues that tradition of sonic excellence.

a nice retrospective of the art of the Deus Ex Universe
Format: Hardcover
Overall, a nice retrospective of the art of the Deus Ex Universe. However, there are areas where it could have further excelled. More in-game, non-character model, non-landscape art would have been great (they give you a few pages of in-game posters and the like, I would have preferred that they covered more of this). There is a smattering of things that were designed but not used, I would have loved to see that explored as it's own section in the book. We know that they had planned, at one time, to have things take place in a few more locales in Human Revolution, it would have been great to see some of the early concept art for those sections. Neither of the mobile Deus Ex games were touched upon at all in the book. Granted there isn't much material that could be covered with them, but nonetheless, a page or two about them would have been nice. My biggest complaint? The book is just barely too tall to fit on my bookshelf.

Lovely
Format: Hardcover
Packaging was fine. BooK was near perfect condition. As for the book, it’s absolutely beautiful. It doesn’t include all of the concept art I’ve been able to find online but it does have a bunch and I love having it in this physically accessible place. It’s bigger than I thought it would be in terms of height and width and thicker than I thought it would be. Very happy. The art for this video game series is absolutely stunning.

Fantastic art book. As good as the first one.
I love the Airbender animation series. I can still remember the strong nostalgia I had while watching the first episode of The Legend of Korra: Book 1 Air, recalling all the characters from the previous series, and watch how time has passed and given us a new generation to look upon. The Legend of Korra: Book 1 - Air, The Art of the Animated Series is a nice addition to that experience. It's as good as the first art book . The cover art is different from the original product image. It has Korra looking rather too serious. The book features development art from all the 12 episodes in Book One: Air. There are designs for the main characters, followed by the Republic City and its inhabitants and then we have art from each episode in order. Character designs form the bulk of the book. There's Korra in different outfits, including those from Pro-bending gear, and also the cute four-year-old Korra. There are lots of line art and also coloured versions for the characters. Other characters are Tenzin and his family, Lin Beifong, Amon, Katara, and about most of the characters that appear in the episodes. The environment art are beautiful. The buildings and sets have a mix of oriental, industrial and European style. The world has changed since Aang was the Avatar. You'll see some connection to the past, for example, with Avatar Aang Memorial Island. Overall, the world feels very different because it has evolved. My favourite piece is the aerial painting of Air Temple Island that appears towards the end. The last few pages have some pretty cool miscellaneous art, such as the classic Avatar characters in their adult form, and also other characters drawn in non-animation style. Throughout the book, commentary is provided by creators Michael Dante DiMartino, Bryan Konietzko and director Joaquin Dos Santos. They give illuminating insight to the designs and stories. Highly recommended to fans of the series, and those who like animation or character art. It's one of my 2013 favourite artbooks. (See more pictures of the book on my blog.
