Where wild horses are present, "Wild Horses Likely In Road Ahead" 550 should be used, or where horse-drawn vehicles are common, "Horse-Drawn Vehicles Likely In Road Ahead" 550.2 is used instead.
This warning sign can be used with a supplementary plate stating ‘For’ and the distance horses may be a potential hazard in the road. Where horses are known to cross the road ahead, a distance plate to the crossing with a left or right arrow may be used, but please refer to the TSRGD Traffic Signs Manual, Chapter 4 on page 53 for more details on informal crossings.
