Coreless Direct Drive for Stable, Musical Rotation
Inheriting Technics’ proven coreless direct drive motor system, the SL-50C delivers high-precision rotation with excellent speed stability and low wow and flutter (0.025% W.R.M.S.). The brushless DC motor and electronic braking system work together to reach 33⅓ rpm from standstill in about 0.7 seconds, keeping pitch rock-solid and timing locked in on every record side.
MDF Plinth with Natural Texture Finishes
Instead of a hollow plastic chassis, the SL-50C uses a dense MDF body with carefully tuned rubber insulators and individually height-adjustable feet. This helps suppress vibration from speakers and room surfaces, reducing smear and improving detail retrieval. Available in warm, interior-friendly finishes like black, gray, and terracotta-style brown (availability may vary), the turntable blends easily into modern living spaces while still looking unmistakably “Technics.”
Ready to Play with Ortofon 2M Red & Built-In Phono Preamp
Out of the box, the SL-50C is dialed in for instant vinyl playback. The included Ortofon 2M Red moving-magnet cartridge comes factory-mounted and aligned on a removable Technics-style headshell, so you don’t have to fuss with setup to start spinning records. A built-in phono EQ (phono preamp) with switchable PHONO/LINE outputs means you can connect directly to powered speakers, soundbars, or any line-level input—or bypass the internal stage and use your own external phono preamp if you prefer to fine-tune your system.
Three Speeds for LPs, 45s, and 78 rpm Records
With support for 33⅓, 45, and 78 rpm, the SL-50C opens the door to a wide range of vinyl—from classic LPs and modern 12" releases to 7" singles and shellac 78s (with a suitable cartridge/stylus). Speed selection is handled via simple top-panel controls, keeping operation intuitive and reliable for everyday listening.

A die-cast aluminum platter with heavy rubber mat provides a stable foundation for your records.
