The bracket can be used in drywall that is 1/4" to 1" thick, since the integrated screws are adjustable. It's meant for use with low voltage connections, like coax and ethernet, so it eliminates the need for a junction box (although all RiteAV Plates mount seamlessly and flushly to any standard-sized box, if you prefer to go that route, or intend to use the plate with a box that is already in place). Once the bracket's in place, you can plug your cables into the back of the plate and mount it to the bracket using the screws provided. The process is simplified since the Ethernet and Coax Cables are plugged into the front of the plate the same way they are on the back.
