Made around the 1900–1910s, it reflects the refined elegance of the era, when opulent jewels were still very much in vogue but clever paste counterparts were admired for their artistry and affordability. If this aquamarine was real it would be 40 carats!
The necklace features graduated white pastes set in articulated silver links, leading to a striking pendant with a sweeping bow motif and an impressively large aquamarine-coloured paste drop sparkling with cool, watery brilliance.
