The Red & Black Oranda Goldfish is a striking fancy goldfish variety known for its rounded body, flowing fins, and prominent head growth (wen). This color form features a dramatic mix of deep red, velvety black, and white highlights that continue to develop with age. Orandas are slower swimmers and thrive in spacious, well-filtered aquariums with stable water quality.
They do best in cool-water setups and appreciate a varied diet of sinking goldfish pellets, gel foods, and occasional vegetables to support healthy wen growth and coloration.
Best kept with other fancy goldfish such as Orandas, Ranchu, Fantails, and Ryukins. Avoid fast or aggressive fish and single-tail varieties that may outcompete them for food.
