Because this rope stretches less than nylon line, the snapback (the recoil) is lower. 

32 mm in diameter. Breaking strength: 20,000 kg. Stretch according to the new calculation of the OICMF adjusted to 6% at 50% of breaking strength. The old calculation assumed 27% but that was for a cable that had been used 100x. More stretch is also not safe, you don't want to have a rubber band between two vehicles, think what would happen to a shackle if something were to break somewhere in the structure.
 
This tow rope is perfectly usable for the 4x4 sport. The rope absorbs the peak load of the pull so there is no damage to the 4x4. We supply this rope in a number of fixed lengths but any other desired length is also possible because we make these ropes to length ourselves.
