This will decrease the need to polish and shine the steel as the finish reflects less light and makes fingerprints and smudges less noticeable. The shelf is 18 inches in length and 5 inches in width and crafted from 18-gauge steel. The edges have a 3/4-inch return to make the shelf strong and their hemmed finish helps to cut down on the likelihood of injuries associated with using the unit. The shelf is welded atop two mounting brackets, which are made of 16-gauge sheet metal. The brackets are positioned so that they are 12 inches apart from one another as well as 3 inches from the ends of the shelf.
