Unlike other alternating pressure mattresses, the PressureGuard APM does not create extreme pressure gradients between inflated and deflated cylinders. Supporting up to 750 pounds, the PressureGuard APM Bariatric Mattress is designed to meet the unique skin integrity challenges of the bariatric client.
On top, the Geo-Matt anti-shearing surface forms a comfortable, therapeutic interface between the air system and the user. It absorbs and smoothes sharp pressure drop-offs that other surfaces can't, while the air system does the "heavy lifting" below, alternating weight bearing across the surface in ten-minute cycles.
The exclusive Geo-Matt® style foam topper is a high density, medical grade foam. The unique geometric design consists of over 800 individual cells, each of which acts individually to redistribute pressure, to reduce heat and moisture buildup on the skin, and to reduce shear to underlying tissues. This foam topper is 2" in height and includes the unique Heel Slope feature, designed to further reduce pressure for the sensitive heel area.
The bacteriostatic top fabric is fire resistant, fluid-proof, tear resistant, cleanable, and replaceable. The pleated design allows full integration with the mattresss Geo-Matt style shear-relieving surface while minimizing hammocking.
The inflation system consists of four urethane air cylinders that run head to foot underneath the body and the foam topper. These cylinders perform the alternating pressure therapy, Cylinders inflate and deflate in a fixed 10-minute cycle. Inflation levels are designed to provide and maintain low interface pressures throughout the mattress, and to redistribute peak interface pressure points during the alternating cycle. Six cylinders are programmed to inflate/deflate in a four-up-two-down pattern, ensures maximum patient support throughout the cycle.

UN‐FREAKIN-BELIEVABLE!!!

I think of myself as a Connoisseur of Faux Fur Blankets folks so my opinions on this blanket should be taken seriously. I have acquired at least 20 faux fur blankets over the last 15ish years-- it's a problem & I admit it. I've purchased small ones, big ones, cheap-expensive- i have earned my knowledge!! This Blanket is hands down THE NICEST! Holy crap is it soft!! BUTTER!! It is made so Beautifully, it's just very special. I love the bit of stretch it has, it adds to the aesthetic somehow. The color is a rich beautiful Brown, i mean it even LOOKS soft--it's just awesome. It is a perfect weight, not too heavy or too light,, Cozy as a MoFo! Just buy it, get it, live happily ever after with it--you won't regret it.
*****UPDATE***** 12/22/25 - I've had this Blanket for almost a year..It's just as soft & beautiful as the day I got it! It has NEVER shed so I don't understand reviews stating it does? When washing these Blankets DO NOT USE WARMTH OF ANY KIND! Washer OR Drier!! The fabric is very delicate so heat will ruin it--even the slightest. Wash on COLD only, and only use AIR drier settings (fluff), NO HEAT FOLKS! It takes about 4 or 5 times to Dry on air only but it is worth the extra time when it comes out perfect. One more thing, NEVER- EVER- EVERRR USE FABRIC SOFTNER. It is wax which will coat all those Beautifully soft fibers and ruin them for good. If you follow these pretty easy suggestions your blankets will stay as awesome as the day you got 'em. I hope this helps. OH.. & GET THE BLANKET!!!!

Gorgeous & so soft!

This is hands down the most beautiful throw I’ve ever had. It’s so soft & luxurious on both sides, which is hard to find. It’s warm but not too warm ,just perfect! I got the olive green & it’s a beautiful shade, not too yellow or muddy. I don’t know why people report shedding issues, I wonder if there were some bad batches? Mine hasn’t shed at all. Just washed it for the first time, came out perfect. No lint at all in dryer screen.

For a luxurious throw,

I originally bought this throw just to have something cozy around the house—and I was immediately impressed with how unbelievably soft it is. After owning (and loving) a lot of blankets, I’ve realized most only have that plush, silky feel on one side. This one is different—it’s soft on both sides, with a weight and drape that feels genuinely luxurious.
The dark gray color is another standout. It looks elevated and expensive, and it’s held up beautifully through multiple washes without losing that silky texture at all. It honestly feels just as soft as the day we got it, which is rare.
But the reason I had to write this review is unexpected.
We’ve been sleep training our almost 1.5-year-old son, and this blanket somehow became part of the routine. It lives in his room, draped over the rocking chair for those long middle-of-the-night wakeups. Over time, he started pulling it down and choosing to sleep on top of it… on the floor.
We couldn’t tell if he preferred the floor—or the blanket.
So I tried something: I put the throw on his bed.
And just like that… he started sleeping in his bed.
Apparently, this blanket is the key to sleep training.
If you’re looking for something soft, durable, and genuinely cozy, this is already a great buy. But if you happen to have a toddler resisting bedtime… this might just be your secret weapon too.

Very soft. Wash only on gentle cycle in cold water and low tumble dry. Fabulous blanket.

So far so good. It was a little sheddy at first but then I washed it and it was fine. It is super soft even after being washed twice. Several people have commented on how soft it is and stated they thought it was a Minky couture. I washed it on gentle cycle in cold water and dried it on gentle low tumble dry. It does not seem to be shedding now. I washed it a second time and put vinegar in the rinse cycle because supposedly that is supposed to help bind the fibers or something. Still seems to be not shedding. It's probably the softest blanket I have every owned. When I wash it, I will continue to wash it on gentle in cold water and dry on either gentle low tumble dry r just air fluff. I read the heat good make the fibers loose and cause more shedding. If anything changes, I will update.
