The Sigma 170i comes with optional MM/MC phono and balanced inputs, making it a versatile choice for any audiophile. It features a pure vacuum tube audio circuitry, a true Class A triode tube line stage, and a pure analogue volume control.
The amplifier is also equipped with a cinema bypass mode for tie-in to home theater, a remote control, and four inputs. It offers optional features such as MM/MC phono with adjustable MC loading, balanced input, and a perforated tube cage (required for CE countries).
The Sigma 170i is handcrafted in the United States by VAC and comes with a fascia available in black or silver metal flake paint, hard chrome knobs, and an iQ display bar. It uses Gold Lion KT88 output tubes and premium Cardas RCA & speaker connectors.
The Special Edition version of the Sigma 170i uses the Statement Series line input transformers with the balanced option and incorporates exotic capacitors and resistors in key circuit locations for a larger, more vivid, detailed, and organic presentation.
