The Sony MZ-E520 is the final iteration of the 5xx series of MiniDisc players (500,501,505,510,and 520). It is dedicated to disc playback, and does not have disc recording functionality.
Released in 2004, it incorporates MDLP, anti-shock 'G Protection',a digital amplifier, a six band equalizer, and ATRAC type S technology.
It weighs 70 grams without a battery or disc installed.
It has a 3.5 mm headphone jack for audio output.
It was bundled with the RM-MC33EL inline remote control.
