COURSE OVERVIEW:

Welcome to the Physical & Skills Development in Children course. This program will equip you with a structured understanding of how children grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and developmentally from infancy through the early school years. You will explore the five categories of child development, how developmental milestones emerge, and why no single milestone is more important than another—each reflects a piece of the whole developmental picture. This course also examines the relationship between physical, cognitive, emotional, and sensory development and how children learn through hands-on experiences that support the integration of brain and body functions.

This course begins by exploring the physical and mental development of children, including the importance of physical wellbeing and the skills that emerge through active movement. You will examine why physical activity is essential for development, how inactivity creates risks for long-term health, and how emotional and mental fitness interact with physical skills. This section also highlights how physical development supports intellectual growth and why early childhood is a foundational period for lifelong learning. You will learn how children’s abilities develop over time and how to interpret developmental milestones without rigid expectations.

The next learning area focuses on development from infancy to early childhood, beginning with babies up to one year old. You will explore the development of all five senses, the emergence of physical control, and the differences between large (gross motor) and fine (small movement) skills. This includes physical development in babies up to three months, from three to twelve months, and how infants begin to master movement patterns that become the foundation for later physical skills.

A further part of the program examines development in toddlers and young children, including large and fine motor development from ages one to two, two to five, and five to eight. You will explore how children gain balance, learn to judge their movements, and become increasingly aware of their bodies. This section also examines the idea of schemas—patterns of repeated behaviour that help children understand the world—and the natural emergence of left- or right-hand preference.

The final learning area focuses on factors that influence physical development, including disability, illness, and developmental coordination disorders such as dyspraxia (DCD). You will explore how these challenges affect children’s physical skills, emotional confidence, exploration, and learning, and how supportive adults can create environments that encourage development at each child’s own pace.

By the end of this course you will be able to understand developmental milestones, support children’s physical and sensory growth, recognise emerging skills, and create learning environments that foster confident movement, exploration, and wellbeing throughout early childhood.

Poop bag and treat dispenser questionable
Color: 9 Pack (No-stuffed Fox)
This is a hard one. The toys seem great. The whole box smells of the poop bags and I don't think they should be a part of the purchase. The bigger issue i see is the treat ball seems to have a weird plastic coating on it. Almost like a thin clear coat that gives is a peeling feeling and I don't think it is safe for the puppy. Excited to see how she likes the other toys though.

WORTH EVERY PENNY
Style: S-Level 2, Style: S-Level 2
I’m really happy with this interactive dog treat puzzle. It keeps my dog engaged, challenged, and excited, especially when he needs something to help burn off mental energy. The compartments are easy to fill with treats, and it was fun watching him figure out how to move everything around to get the rewards. It seems well made and has held up nicely so far. I also like that it slows him down a bit and gives him something productive to focus on. This is a great option for keeping dogs entertained, reducing boredom, and giving them a little mental workout. Overall, I would definitely recommend this to other dog owners looking for a fun and stimulating treat toy.

My Dog Likes It… But My Cat LOVES It!
Style: S-Level 2
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I originally bought this puzzle feeder for my dog, but surprisingly, my cat became obsessed with it! She has been using it since she was very young and figured it out incredibly fast. I love that it turns treat time into a fun mental challenge. Instead of simply giving treats between meals, it encourages problem-solving, movement, and natural foraging behaviors. It’s a great way to provide enrichment, keep them entertained, and stimulate their minds while rewarding them at the same time. The different compartments and sliding pieces keep things interesting, and it’s been durable enough to handle daily use. Watching my pets learn and interact with it is honestly one of my favorite things. If you’re looking for a way to keep your dog or cat mentally engaged while offering treats in moderation, I highly recommend it! 🐾 A great enrichment toy that makes snack time more rewarding and interactive.

Durable interactive fun for You and your Dog
Style: S-Level 2
It’s it’s an interactive toy if your dog isn’t lazy like my little boy. He likes to play, but he wants me to show him where everything is. It’s very doable because he’s rough and tough and it was much more reasonable than some of the other interactive toys..
