What type of pig does Sunglo 18-G work well on? 

18-G works well on show pigs that are in need of more muscle shape and skeletal growth. If you have a "green" or skinnier made show pig that needs "more" everywhere in terms of muscle and grow, this is the right feed for you. It is also a good tool to use if you have an animal that will deposit fat and flesh very quickly and easily, which can happen easily with many purebreds specifically. 

How does Sunglo 18-G compare to other feeds within the Sunglo lineup? 

18-G is what we would consider our "tried and true" market hog feed (although plenty of easy fleshing gilts, especially purebreds) have been fed this product for more muscle and growth, part due to its higher lysine content.  If you're looking to slow way down, when muscle has out-paced skeleton, check out Sunglo® Coast. How much Sunglo 18-G do I need to feed and when should I start? 

18-G is one of our most popular options when picking up new pigs from your breeder or pig sale. It'll help maintain the muscle shape they have and keep them growing. We recommend starting with approximately 3-4 lbs. per head per day from 75 lbs. on and then increasing from there based on growth rate and consumption. 18-G can be fed at any time in the feeding phase.
