COURSE OVERVIEW:

Welcome to the course Coordinate NDIS Participant Support. This program is designed to equip you with the essential knowledge and skills required to effectively coordinate support for participants in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). By the end of this course, you will be proficient in navigating the NDIS system, understanding legislative frameworks, and providing high-quality support coordination tailored to individual needs.

In section A, we begin with an in-depth understanding of the NDIS system relevant to support coordination. You will learn about the National and State/Territory legislation and statutory bodies that govern the NDIS, including the NDIS Code of Conduct and the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. This knowledge is crucial for ensuring compliance and maintaining high standards of practice.

The course will then explore the rights-based context of the NDIS, emphasising the importance of upholding the rights of participants. You will gain insight into the various support categories, NDIS pricing arrangements, and price limits, which are essential for managing funding and service agreements effectively.

Understanding NDIS roles and responsibilities, funding models, and supports available for families in crisis will be covered, along with positive behaviour supports and the mental health of participants. You will also learn about the impact of psychosocial disability and strategies for engaging with disengaged participants.

Advocacy, complaint mechanisms, and the types of supports available under the NDIS will be discussed. You will explore stakeholder roles and responsibilities, organisational policies and procedures relevant to support coordination, and the different levels and processes of support coordination.

Effective communication, negotiation, and problem-solving techniques are vital for managing difficult conversations and ensuring successful outcomes. You will learn about the benefits and risks for participants of registered and non-registered service providers, engagement processes, and job role expectations.

A thorough understanding of NDIS plans, reporting and recording requirements, and common terms used in NDIS support coordination will round out this section, providing a solid foundation for your role.

Section B focuses on the practical application of your knowledge. You will learn to interpret NDIS plans to identify the type, level, and parameters of funded supports and use the NDIS price guide to calculate the quantity of hours funded.

Communicating effectively with participants and their supports to determine individual needs and preferences is crucial. You will learn to manage expectations, explain the NDIS system and funded supports, and build the capacity of participants and their supports to understand, implement, and use their plans.

Collaborating with participants and their supports to research, discuss, and evaluate service options is a key skill. You will learn to customise service options to individual needs and preferences and negotiate agreements with service providers on behalf of participants.

Ensuring service agreements and bookings are completed as agreed, recording case notes according to organisational policies, and tracking billable and non-billable coordination time are essential tasks. You will also learn to write reports that meet organisational and funding body requirements and deliver services within the specified hours of funding for support coordination.

Finally, you will apply your skills in coordinating support for three NDIS participants, including one participant with a significant change of circumstances, providing you with practical experience and confidence in your role.

By the end of this course, you will be well-prepared to coordinate NDIS participant support effectively, ensuring that participants receive the services they need to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.

This course is designed to align with the content outlined in the Nationally Recognised Unit of Competency CHCDIS022.

This really works!
Style: SPF 50, Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
A week on the beach and no burns! It is a little hard to get rubbed in and I probably had a little bit of a white cast on my skin. So worth it though for the protection of me and the reefs.

White cast
Style: SPF 50, Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
Leaves a white cast, like all strong mineral sunscreens. Hard to get off even in the shower. However, it provides good protection.

The best sunscreen I've ever used.
Style: SPF 50, Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
I recently switched over from chemical to mineral sunscreen, and I absolutely love this. I'm in Florida, and this sunscreen definitely stood up to the test of the Florida sun. Usually, no matter what sunscreen I use, and no matter how often I re-apply, I tend to get a little pink on my shoulders if I'm out all day, but this sunscreen kept me covered! Did well at the waterpark and beach as well, very happy and will be ordering more.
