Roll-A-Ramp 36" Wide Portable Ramp System

Wide-format modular ramp system designed for maximum stability, clearance, and support for wheelchairs, power chairs, and mobility scooters.

The Roll-A-Ramp 36" Wide System is the largest standard width in the Roll-A-Ramp lineup, built for users who need additional space, improved control, and a more forgiving ramp surface. It is commonly selected for power chairs, bariatric use, and caregiver-assisted mobility where positioning and stability are critical.

Call 866-218-0902 to configure ramp length and rail options.

System Positioning: Where the 36" Width Fits

This version is designed for situations where standard-width ramps feel restrictive or unsafe.

  • 26" width: Tight spaces and compact setups
  • 30" width: Balanced general-use option
  • 36" width: Maximum clearance and control

The 36" system prioritizes usability and safety over portability.

Why Choose a 36" Wide Ramp

Wider ramps change how the ramp feels during use.

  • More lateral space for positioning mobility devices
  • Greater margin for error when entering and exiting
  • Easier caregiver-assisted navigation
  • Improved comfort for larger wheelchairs and scooters

This is especially noticeable with power chairs, which require more precise control and space.

Modular Design and Flexibility

The Roll-A-Ramp system is built around sectional components, allowing for adaptable configurations.

  • Ramp sections connect to create custom lengths
  • Can be expanded or reduced over time
  • Breaks down into transportable components
  • Can be relocated as needs change

This flexibility makes it suitable for both temporary and long-term use.

Handrail Options (Optional Configuration)

This system can be configured with multiple rail options depending on the level of support required.

  • No rails: Open access, maximum flexibility
  • Two-line rails: Basic balance support
  • Picket rails: Full containment and fall protection

With wider ramps, handrails often become more important, especially for:

  • Longer ramp lengths
  • Caregiver-assisted use
  • Users with limited balance

In many cases, the 36" system is paired with handrails to create a more complete safety solution.

Performance and Capacity

  • High-strength aluminum construction
  • Slip-resistant surface for traction
  • Supports wheelchairs, power chairs, and scooters
  • Stable under load when properly assembled

The added width contributes to overall stability and user confidence during operation.

Where This System Works Best

  • Home entry and primary access points
  • Bariatric or heavy mobility equipment use
  • Caregiver-assisted mobility setups
  • Situations where safety margin is a priority

This configuration is often selected when reliability and ease of use outweigh portability concerns.

Ramp Length and Safety Considerations

Width improves control, but slope still determines safety.

A longer ramp reduces incline, making it easier to use and safer—especially when combined with wider surfaces and handrails.

Key principle: Combine width and length for maximum usability.

Installation and Setup

  • No permanent installation required
  • Sections connect to form ramp length
  • Can be disassembled and relocated
  • Handrails attach as part of system configuration

While portable, this system is typically used in semi-permanent setups due to its size.

Important Considerations Before Purchase

  • Requires more space than narrower systems
  • Heavier and more involved to assemble
  • Not ideal for frequent transport
  • Best suited for fixed or semi-permanent use

This is a performance-first system, not a compact solution.

Who This Ramp System Is Best For

  • Power chair and bariatric users
  • Caregivers assisting mobility daily
  • Users who want maximum stability and space
  • Homes where safety margin is a priority

If space allows, this is often the most forgiving and easiest system to use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is 36" too wide for most homes?

It depends on available space. It requires more clearance than narrower ramps, so measurements should be confirmed before purchase.

Who benefits most from a 36" ramp?

Users with power chairs, bariatric needs, or caregiver assistance benefit most from the additional width and stability.

Do I need handrails with this system?

While not required, they are often recommended—especially for longer ramps or higher-risk situations. They significantly improve control and safety.

Is this better than a folding ramp?

For long spans and daily use, yes. Folding ramps are better for short-term or quick access, while modular systems provide more flexibility and stability.

Can this ramp be used long-term?

Yes. It is commonly used as a semi-permanent solution where consistent access is needed without a permanent installation.

Inkjets have come a long way
Pattern Name: Printer, Style: ET-15000
Just a lot to like about this printer and nothing I don't like. Very capable for the price. I do mostly black and white printing, rarely print photos. (This will supposedly do a credible job of photo printing too but I haven't tried it). If you want professional caliber photo printing, you probably want the Epson 8550 which is similar to this, a bit more expensive, but does 6 color printing. If you are doing more like every day business printing the 15000 might be a better choice because it's built more for speed. The tank system means I can just replace the black because I use it a lot. The black ink tank is double size of the others and based on my experience so far, I think I'll easily get over a thousand pages on the standard-vivid setting which is very strong black but still relatively high speed printing. Given that the black ink bottles are under $30 I think the cost per page will be comparable to laser. The booklet/pamphlet printing can be complicated to work out with layers of PDF software and the Epson printer driver. But once you work it through, it's super capable. I've printed a lot of 12 x 18 double-sided for booklets and the paper handling has been flawless. (It can duplex automatically for 8 1/2 x 11 but for other sizes you have to manually duplex, which you can do by printing back/front or even/odd.) It's not as fast as a laser printer but it's pretty fast -- inkjets have improved so much.

Perfect Printer for My Small Business
Pattern Name: Printer, Style: ET-15000
I purchased the Epson ET-15000 for my crafting and apparel business and have been very pleased with its performance. The print quality is excellent, colors are vibrant, and the large ink tanks help save money over time. It handles larger print sizes with ease and has become an essential part of my workspace.

Nice large format printer which is what I needed
Pattern Name: Printer, Style: ET-15000
I make stained glass panels and needed a printer that I could make larger copies with. I also wanted one that I could manipulate my images with. This was my best option and I love the Eco-Tank printers. After reading the reviews I made sure to add a couple years of additional warranty for my peace of mind. Finding 13 x 19 paper that was affordable was a tough challenge. I found a bunch on FB marketplace and bought everything they had to offer. This printer was very easy to set-up. I just followed the instructions and then followed what was on my computer screen. At first I thought I would have an issue connecting to Wi-Fi but when it failed on the computer, I was able to go to the printer and do it from the control panel - Easy peesey. I have used it several times since filling, charging, and installing and everything works as it should. My husband has an Eco-Tank printer and I've wanted one since he got his. I love that the ink will last a very long time and that it will be cost efficient. I am not overly interested in photo printing so this was the perfect choice for my needs. The print quality is fairly good when comparing it to my old Canon and e that there are several paper trays and ways to make copies, especially the automatic feed and the larger scanner bed.

document feeder not working on first real use.
Pattern Name: Printer, Style: ET-15000
Serious reliability issues and concerns. We have owned the printer for about 1 month and printed a limited amount. For the first time today I tried scanning with the document feeder. I was scanning about 12 pages that should of been 1 document. The first page scanned and then stopped. I started the scanner again and it scanned about 5 pages and then jammed. The rest of the pages were a constant jamming/not feeding fiasco. I would run to the computer and hit scan, then run to the printer and manually push on the paper as hard as i could without the paper bending. if I pushed just right i could get a few pages through without jamming. I ended up with about 6 pdf's instead of one document and constant jamming in the paper feeder. Frustrating from a brand new printer and the first time using the paper scanner. There is a clicking noise when it scans. a few of the pages fed properly but the rest had to be forced. No obvious obstructions or other issues. I tried cleaning the rollers with no success. Then attempted to reach out to Epson support. The only support option I could find was an email form that put me in a captia loop after entering all the information so I had to start over on the ticket submission. No chat support, no phone number, brand new higher priced printer with serious build/reliability issues. Frustrating.
