About the work

From 1969 his signature inverted figures appeared, Baselitz seeing in this a way of combining the abstract expressionistic with the figure as iconic motif. This thematic has continued to the present day in his paintings, drawings, etchings, and woodcuts.
Having worked for many years against the mainstream of contemporary art, Baselitz has firmly established his reputation internationally, along-side his influence on the young German Neo-Expressionist painters, referred to in Germany as the ‘Neue Wilden’.

About the artist

German painter, draughtsman, printmaker and sculptor Georg Baselitz was born in Deutschbaselitz, Saxony in 1938. After studying at Hochschule für Bildende Künste in East Berlin in 1956 and Hochschule der Bildenden Künste in West Berlin he became interested in the theoretical writings of painters such as Kandinsky and Malevich.
During the early 1960s Baselitz rebelled against the dominance of abstract painting, championing instead a more expressionistic and figurative art form with its origins in works produced by outsider artists. His work began to feature figures as ‘heroes’, ‘rebels’, and ‘shepherds’—sometimes depicted as physically disabled but presented stylistically as modern,’ otherworldly’ heroes.

Engineered PERFECTLY!!!
Size: Queen, Style: With Headbroad
So the reviews are pretty accurate, this bed is UGLY!!! A bright ugly orange hahaha! BUUUUUUUT, if color is not an issue for you (like it wasn’t for me), THIS BED IS SOLID!!! Solid wood, solid build, solid product!!! Also I want to add that the way it’s designed, it’s very hard to mess up when building. They engineered this bed that all pieces fit perfectly together when the correct pieces are placed in the correct spots. If the holes are off, switch the pieces around until the holes match perfectly! I am in love with this bed!!!

Great bed frame solid wood
Size: Queen, Style: With Headbroad
I read other reviews about this product and someone said that it was sort of orange in color and yes it was I might try and stain the wood a different color not sure but it still looks okay I am not sure if I follow the directions correctly I installed the head board with the hardware showing from the front but I switched it to the back and it looks much better now great value seems well built easy to put together the only problem I had was with the sides I had them switched the boards that are attached go to the top not the bottom other than that it went easy to follow the directions

Too good to be true
Size: King, Style: With Headbroad
Very orange, wish i would’ve read the reviews better. The two cross bars are too long so we had to drill our own holes into 2 of the 14 and make it work, one if the feet didnt have threads and i’m pretty sure when my mattress arrives it’ll hang over the bed.

Sturdy Big Kid Bed
Size: Twin, Style: With Headbroad
My son loves his new bed! He is in this "big kid" bed now and he has adjusted well. I built this with my husband and the instructions are easy to follow. It helps to have a power drill to drill the screws in quickly for the platform. The bed is very sturdy and stable and has a very classic look to it.
