The Back-UPS CS 500 6-Outlet Backup and Surge Protector, Black (120V) from APC provides professional power protection and battery backup for computer systems. Safe system shutdown and advanced power management capabilities keep systems and data safe via serial or USB connection, and built-in phone/fax/modem (DSL-compatible) connections protect systems from surges traveling on data lines.
The UPS features 6 outlets, 3 of which provide battery backup, and three more that are surge protected. The unit delives battery-powered AC, and its battery provides 15.4 minutes of run time at half-load capacity. APC offers guaranteed protection from surges and spikes with a lifetime, $25,000 Equipment Protection Policy.
- Data Line Protection
- The surge protector features an RJ-11 surge protection connection that allows you to protect modem connections from power surges. This helps to preserve the life of your modem and further protect your computer from surges.
- Spaced Outlets
- The UPS features two spaced outlets that are designed to accommodate devices with large "power brick" AC adapters. This lets you power and protect these devices without sacrificing another plug due to their large size.
- Audible Alarms
- The surge protector features an audible alarm that lets you know when there is a problem with your power. This helps to make you aware of a power outage or surge.
- Serial Communication

Some parts don't fit the vacuum or are funky (in a bad way)
Overall it's nice to have these replacement parts. A few issues:
1. The included tiny plastic-handled screwdriver snapped in half right away when we used it to remove some screws from the unit.
2. The screwdriver isn't the right size for some of the screws. It would be nice to have 2 sizes, both sturdier than the original.
3. The cleaning tool (see pic) has a square shaped end, instead if a tapered end like the original. This means you can't use it to clean the end notches on the main brush.
4. One of the main brushes doesn't fit well, and causes a horrendously loud noise when we tried it. The second brush is as quiet as the original.
