Mae Jean Chester, Rug, Storm Pattern, Navajo, 28.5" x 43"Traders like JB Moore first introduced Navajo art to collectors back east, but rugs (not silver) captured the imaginations of collectors and decorators. Following Moore's lead, other traders began marketing Navajo weaving, even influencing many of the well known styles. Today styles are not defined by regions but perfected by dedicated weavers from all parts of the Navajo Nation. We have assembled a large collection of rugs on our online Trading Post

Traders like JB Moore first introduced Navajo art to collectors back east, but rugs (not silver) captured the imaginations of collectors and decorators. Following Moore's lead, other traders began marketing Navajo weaving, even influencing many of the well-known styles. Today styles are not defined by regions but perfected by dedicated weavers from all parts of the Navajo Nation. We have assembled a large collection of rugs on our online Trading Post and hope you take time to look through them all. Hopefully, you will find the perfect rug.

The Storm Pattern is a favorite among many collectors. This style of rug features an amazing design that starts at the center and reaches out to the four corners of the weaving. You will also find the weaving filled with many other symbols. Storm rugs come in many different colors, and some of the most popular use classic combinations like Ganado Red. These are very impressive weavings, and it is not uncommon to find one of these in the 10-foot range.

Bad book for SOA exam, but oh well.
Format: Paperback
While required by Society of Actuaries as the textbook for Short Term Actuarial Models exam, I could not recommend this textbook for any other purposes. Written by two Canadian actuaries, a lot of terms and explanations used in this textbook cannot be transferred into US P&C insurance. It fails to explains insurance's purpose and products effectively and as an intro book with unnecessary sentences to deliver personal thoughts. It is also a mess in following sections on ratemaking and reserving. I cannot sense a flow from this book that guides readers in an approachable manner. Overall, author compromises the size AND the quality.
