Why a Cuban mop?

The wooden palo is light, durable, and doesn't have a swivel head that gets stuck. The flat platform lets you press a damp cotton cloth firmly against the floor for real scrubbing, then flip to the dry side to dry the floor in the same pass. American sponge and string mops leave floors wet for 5–10 minutes; the Cuban method has them dry in seconds. Better for tile, terrazzo, polished concrete, and hardwood.

How to use it

1. Soak a frasada in your cleaning bucket (water + Fabuloso, Pine-Sol, or your preferred floor cleaner)
2. Wring it out by hand to damp — not soaking
3. Fold the cloth and place it flat under the mop's T-base
4. Mop in long pulling strokes — the cloth grips the floor and scrubs
5. When the wet side is dirty, flip the cloth, or grab the other one
6. For the final pass, use a dry cloth to dry the floor instantly

Care

Machine-wash the cotton cloths in hot water with bleach for white cloths. Replace cloths every 3–6 months of daily use. The wood mop itself lasts years with normal care — keep it stored vertically and let it dry fully between uses to prevent warping.
