For years we've been dreaming of creating the perfect leggings - it's subjective but we've tried so many over the years and for us the perfect winter legging combines pure merino wool, a waistband that doesn't dig in, high waisted comfort and support, a knitted fabric that can be easily repaired and a garment that is totally biodegradable at the end of a long life. 

So for our very first product in our new Castlemaine Knitting Studio we bring you our High Waisted Rib Knit Leggings made from super soft 100% Extrafine Merino wool grown in Tasmania and spun in Italy. Designed and made in house for UMIFORM, our own Woollykins Women's label.

We have designed these wool leggings for maximum comfort and warmth. They are completely seamless with shaping for our bodies. The rib is stretchy and the high waist can be worn high to cover the belly and kidneys for extra cosiness. These super soft leggings feel like wearing a warm cloud. 

The waistband features knitted in elastic made from natural rubber and organic cotton. Like the top of a sock, the waistband gently but firmly keeps the leggings where they need to be all whilst bringing warmth and comfort to the belly. The additional shaping at the back accommodates our bottoms and hips and the gusset in the crotch keeps the fabric from pulling too tight providing the additional fabric needed to avoid over stretching over this common wear point. 

These leggings are quite thick and totally opaque but they are designed with layering for warmth in mind: for under skirts, dresses, long shirts, all through the winter months.
