The Elm handle was chosen for beauty and features an octagonal and slightly ovoid shape
This 19mm (3/4") Beveled Edge Chisel from pfeil is crafted using the same technology and attention to detail that have made pfeil carving tools famous the world over. Pfeil uses only the finest Swiss alloy tool steel. The blade is heat treated individually, using the latest technology, and is expertly ground on all sides with a 25° main bevel on the cutting edge. The Elm handle was chosen for beauty and features an octagonal and slightly ovoid shape for improved control and comfort. However, there is something different about this Beveled Edge Chisel! The side bevel is swept back towards the centerline as opposed to being parallel. This design permits the blade being used in some pretty tight places, such as cleaning up dovetails, plus we think it just plain looks good while also being functional. This marriage of Old-World craftsmanship and modern technology, plus the legendary Swiss attention to detail, may have created the world’s best bench chisel.

Good finish, poor hardware.
Set screws are poor quality and are sometimes powdercoated on the exposed threads. Leads to striped hex sockets and inability to tighten properly.
Durable finish as evidenced by no visible damage after throwing parts across the shop in frustration.
Ended up running self tapping screws thru parts to complete assembly.
