DonJoy SE-4 Rigid Knee Brace

The DonJoy SE-4 is a high-integrity clinical orthosis engineered for the rigid stabilization of the knee joint following significant ligamentous trauma or surgical reconstruction. By utilizing a durable, aircraft-grade aluminum frame and the patented Four-Points-of-Leverage system, this brace creates a Zero-Friction environment that actively manages translational forces to protect the ACL, PCL, or Combined Instabilities (CI). The SE-4 is specifically configured for the targeted ligament injury, with hinge mechanics optimized for either ACL or PCL protection. This brace is the premier clinical choice for patients requiring a robust, non-custom mechanical anchor to facilitate a safe return to functional activities and low-to-moderate impact athletics.

Clinical Features & Patient Benefits

  • Four-Points-of-Leverage System: Features a "Zero-Friction" mechanical design that significantly reduces ACL/PCL strain by providing a rigid counterforce during movement.
  • Aircraft-Grade Aluminum Frame: Provides "Zero-Friction" lightweight durability with a low-profile fit that ensures the brace remains comfortable during extended periods of wear.
  • Ligament-Specific Configurations: Specifically engineered with "Zero-Friction" anatomical settings for ACL, PCL, or Combined Instabilities (CI) to match the patient's unique clinical needs.
  • Soft, Non-Slip Padding: Utilizes high-quality, breathable liners that facilitate "Zero-Friction" airflow, keeping the limb cool and dry while maintaining precise brace alignment.

The Clinical Authority: Why Professionals Trust the SE-4

Orthopedic specialists and Sports Medicine Practitioners specify the DonJoy SE-4 for its "structural-integrity" stabilization. Its "Zero-Friction" environment is the gold standard for managing moderate-to-severe ligamentous laxity where a soft brace is insufficient. By providing a rigid external frame that anchors the femur and tibia, the brace effectively offloads the cruciate ligaments. This targeted approach is highly effective for post-operative recovery and preventing re-injury during the transition back to high-demand functional mobility.

FAQ: Stabilization & Sizing

What is the difference between the ACL and PCL versions?
The "Zero-Friction" mechanics are adjusted based on which ligament is injured—the ACL version protects against forward shin movement, while the PCL version protects against backward movement.

Can I wear this brace for daily walking?
Yes. The "Zero-Friction" lightweight aluminum frame is designed for daily use, providing high-level protection without being overly cumbersome under loose-fitting clothing.

Is there a specific Left or Right version?
Yes. To provide a "Zero-Friction" anatomical fit, the SE-4 is specifically contoured for either the Left or Right leg and your specific ligament injury.

Specifications & Sizing Table

Selection is based on the circumference of the thigh (6" above mid-patella). Measure carefully for an optimal "Zero-Friction" clinical fit:

2X-Large 26.5" – 29.5"
3X-Large 29.5" – 32"

arm holes too large, shirt too long, size down
Size: Small, Color: Wine
I am 110 pounds and 5’2”. I ordered a small. The fabric feels awesome. The neck area and straps are perfect. However, the arm holes are quite large. The bottom of the arm hole isn’t straight down, flush with the shirt. It angels outward. If you lift your arms up it looks odd. I should have ordered an extra small. But even if I do that, I still think the arm hole will look odd. I will likely return this or wear it at night or at the gym with yoga pants. The shirt is a tad bit long. If you wear short shorts, the shirt would cover your shorts.

WELL CONSTRUCTED. GOOD STITCHING ON NECKLINE AND SLEEVES. GOOD FOR TALL PERSON.
Size: X-Large, Color: Orange
The Automet women's loose-fit tank top is sized just right for me. I'm 5'11', 200 lbs., 57 years old. I've got some back fat that would be obvious in a tight top. This tank is loose enough to hide my back fat but not too loose. From the front, it does not appear loose at all. It's the back area that has extra room. It has a nice, scooped hem. One special feature is the double stitching on the neck and shoulders. It is well-made. It looks more expensive than it is. I bought the Automet tank top in the color orange. It is NOT see-through, nor is it thick. I live in Arizona, in the desert part, where it gets hot. This tank is thin enough to keep me comfortable from May to October when the heat hits. It's hard for me to find the "perfect" tank. I've tried so many. I feel you would be wise to give this tank a try. Worst case, you return it. I love the orange one so much, I plan to purchase all the colors for this hot summer coming up. I wish all of you the same happiness I have found with the Automet tank top.
