About the Class
Designed for beginners, in this 3-hour custom rug tufting workshop, receive detailed guidance on operating a tufting gun and tufting techniques to create your own rug on a 32″x 34″ frame.
We provide the tufting gun, primary backing, a selection of yarn colors, rug tufting frames, fabric glue, and backing finishes. If you’ve chosen a design that uses specific colors, or a lot of a single color, you’re always welcome to bring your own yarn to ensure you get the desired design outcome.
How it Works
Once you book a class, you will receive an email with tips on selecting your design. You’ll want 2-3 options saved on your phone to bring to the studio.
When you arrive, we’ll work with you to select the best design and set you up to trace using our projectors. After 30 minutes, we’ll start with an instructional tufting demonstration, and you’ll have about 1 ½ hours to tuft.
After your experience is over, we will glue, trim and shave your rug.
If by chance you get a hole in your tufting cloth, a new cloth will be $15.00
If you sign up for the 3 pm class, you will need to come back in 24 - 48 hours, or on the next day we are open to pick up your rug. If you are traveling from out of state or you are unable to come back the next day, it will be best if you can sign up for the 12 pm class so we can try to have your rug ready before we close at 6:30 pm.
Custom Rug
If you would like us to make you a custom rug, sign up for the custom rug and send us the picture that would you like tufted. We will discuss your options after payment is made.
Important Info
All reservations are binding, non-refundable, and cannot be rescheduled. Please arrive 15 minutes before your reservation, as class will start promptly to maximize tufting time. You will forfeit your spot in class if you are more than 15 minutes late. Must be 16 or older to tuft, with a parent or guardian present. Children under 16 are not permitted.
