The extraordinary quality of the artisan hand-forged Damascus finish on this "Anmon" gyuto is simply the best we have ever seen, period. The 7th generation owner of Nigara Hamono, an art-enthusiast himself, designed this unique pattern in 2008 after being inspired by Andy Warhol's artwork as well as the Anmon Waterfalls at the World Heritage Shirakami Mountains adjacent to the city of Hirosaki, where Nigara was founded 350 years ago. The fit and finish of this knife are simply second to none - from fluidly polished choil to smooth spine, not to mention beautiful grind and smooth tapering. The level of polishing has gone up even further in the last few years, and these "Anmon" knives have to be seen to be truly appreciated. You'll be mesmerized.

We felt that with such a stunning knife, it is only fitting to pair it with a high-end handle. This knife has a Japan-made beautifully polished ebony double-full-buffalo double-ginmaki handle installed. It's a very costly handle but we think you'll appreciate the result.

About Nigara Hamono 二唐刃物

With 350 years of history, starting from making swords for Tsugaru clan in the early Edo period, Nigara Hamono has passed down knowhow and skills for eight generations. Its 5th generation blacksmith Kunitoshi Nigara was a legendary sword maker, earning a long list of accolades, honorary titles and knighthood. The current (8th) generation blacksmith — Tsuyoshi Yoshizawa is supported by his father Toshiju Yoshizawa who has keen interests in art and music. Nigara’s famous Anmon design is the result of Toshiju’s love for Andy Warhol’s artworks. The family business’ expansion into construction steelworks has given Nigara unmatched access to in-house knowhow when it comes to advanced finishing. All these set Nigara apart as one of the most special knife makers in Japan.

Care:

Wash and dry with a soft sponge, and safely store after use. Avoid cutting into bones, frozen foods, hard fruit pits.

Cutting Surface:

Recommended cutting surface: wood, rubberized boards and high-end composites, and quality plastics such as polyethene make acceptable cutting surfaces, and will help protect and prolong knife’s edge. AVOID glass, metal, countertops, and other rigid, non-forgiving surfaces.

Sharpening:

We recommend sharpening all quality Japanese knives on whetstones, as we believe they yield the best results for your knives.

Fun interactive dog toy
My dogs love plush chew toys, and this one was definitely a hit. My dog really enjoyed it, especially the squeaker, and the rope was his favorite part. It is a super cute toy with vibrant colors and a variety of interactive features, including a cotton rope, different textures, crinkle paper, and a built in squeaker, which kept him engaged. This toy is great for small to medium sized dogs. However, for larger dogs or strong chewers, it probably will not last very long. My dog had it for only a few days before he started tearing up the rope. For the price, I feel it is reasonably priced and comparable to other toys of similar quality. It works well for games like fetch or tug-of-war, and I also like that it is machine washable. Once it gets dirty, you can simply toss it in the wash, which is very convenient. Overall, it is a fun and interactive toy, just not ideal for aggressive chewers.

Cute but not fit true chewers.
Supposed to be hard for dogs to destroy. Lasted less than 10 minutes. So disappointed.

Interactive dog toy
Perfect dog toy. My dog loves all the different ropes. The combination ropes and the plush toy keep my dog entertained for long periods of time. This makes it perfect for interactive, play alone and play together. There are various surfaces for a dog to chew on this toy with different textures. My dog is more of a power chewer and can easily destroy this toy. Therefore, the chewability is fairly easy. This makes it great for more supervised to play, not the way I can leave out. The toy makes different sounds which my dog loves. The size is perfect for my 65 lb dog. She can easily wrap house with it and carry it around the house. Overall functional, fun, interactive dog toy.
