Facsimile book of the original (226 pages)

In 1890, Charles Lacouture published one of the masterpieces in the history of the use of color. “Répertoire chromatique : solution raisonnée et pratique des problèmes les plus usuels dans l’étude et l’emploi des couleurs : vingt-neuf tableaux en chromos, représentant 952 teintes différentes & définies groupées en plus de 600 gammes typiques” *

Charles Lacouture developed a unique system using the three primary colors (red, blue and yellow). The “Trilobe synoptique” or three-ear construction he created is a method of altering color tones by varying the thickness of the lines, without changing the actual inks used.

This approach suggests an innovative way of creating a range of colors within a specific color space, possibly using stroke techniques to achieve different color perceptions rather than relying solely on mixing different ink colors. It is interesting to note that he focused on generating color fields using these basic colors as a base.

The book includes 29 charts presented in chromos  (chromolithographs ) representing 952 different and defined color tones. These shades are grouped into more than 600 typical color ranges.
“Répertoire Chromatique” offers a structured approach to color theory, providing readers with a visual representation of a wide range of colors and their relationships. This type of resource is immensely valuable for artists, designers and anyone working with colors in a creative or practical context.

A reasoned and practical solution to the most common problems in the study and use of colors.

Charles Lacouture (1832 – 1908) was professor at the ”Institut Saint-Clément” in Metz. This rare study is dedicated to the great 19th c. French colour theoretician Chevreul. Lacouture proposes here , with the use of the three primary colours, a practical method to implement Chevreul’s colour theories in art and colour printing.

*”Chromatic repertory: reasoned, practical solutions to the most common problems in the study and use of colors: twenty-nine chromo charts, representing 952 different & defined shades grouped into over 600 typical ranges.”

Comfy but holes.
Size: Large, Color: A-multicolor(6 Pack)
Comfy and cute - holes and falling apart already. Im not sure if I just got a bad batch/pair, but the seam at the crotch connecting to the "gusset" is detaching in the black one... I really liked them too. Only worn them like 2 or 3 times, so now im worried about wearing the others.

Not full coverage
Size: Medium, Color: A-multicolor(6 Pack)
These are not full coverage and are the cheapest underwear in every way. The fabric is rough, and the seams around the edges of the leg openings are exposed. I ordered medium for my 28" waist and 38" hips. They fit... except for the buttcheek debut. I gave them to my 12 year old daughter to wear because she's not picky. Plus, they were cheap. She's happy. I'm still searching for full coverage undies. Update: The seller reached out regarding my review, and I'm impressed with their customer service. The cotton softened up upon washing and drying (no sand paper undies), and my daughter is very pleased with them.

Comfortable and cool. Does not ride up.
Color: 01-multicolour (4-pack), Size: Medium
Extremely comfortable. Stays cool. Ample coverage. Quality material. They do not creep up. I ordered a medium which I generally take a size small. I have reordered and will reorder again to add more colors to my collection.

Great Value for Cool Thigh Protection
Color: 02-multicolour (4-pack), Size: XX-Large
For the price, I'm not sure there are better women's boxer shortlettes anywhere. I've tried more expensive brands, and for quality and cooling, these are right up there. I have other bamboo viscose undies that still get gross when I get sweaty in the summer, but these, with the large mesh panel, really help wick away a lot of that moisture, keeping you feeling dryer and cooler. I find that the leg openings are comfortable and don't roll up! and the waist band doesn't dig, nor does it roll down. These do not provide any compression, and I wasn't looking for any. I just wanted some cooling, thigh protecting women's boxers that wouldn't break the bank. These are them! Bonus- I've washed them and put them in the dryer (following their instructions), and they haven't shrunk; they look about the same and are nice and soft.

Great for the entire family but expensive
So far so good. The brand of boxers we had been buying changed their style and construction so we needed to find an alternative. These have held up well so far to multiple weeks of frequent washing and wearing from the entire family. We did size up from the usual 6/M we normally buy and ordered large to prevent the legs from rolling up which worked out great. Our daughter likes the length and how soft the fabric is for wearing under skirts and gym shorts and liners stay put without moving or leaking as another reviewer mentioned. Our son says they are comfortable and fit well being just supportive enough without being constrictive. We all agree that there seems to be not enough fabric in the back as they tend to be much tighter across the backside than the front and that also causes the waist band to ride lower in the back than the front. These have better seam placement than some brands we tried with no seam across the lady bits and no seam down the middle of the back side so they are more much comfortable but the cost is also much higher and that is why we're only giving it 4 stars. These will stay in the rotation until we find something cheaper that both us and the kids like.
