When you first arrive in Breckenridge, the mountain will take your breath away. Especially if you've got those New England lungs. Sitting at a base elevation of 9,600 feet, consisting of 5 peaks, and over 50% being expert / advanced terrain - this mountain has a lot to offer. I spared no expense of detail in the obvious fun zones - the brilliant bowls and endless glades.
Let's face it, there's no doubt that Breck is a beast of a resort and a stunning location to display. And then there's the people. Breckenridge is a tight-knit community, and everyone is here for the same reason: to enjoy the mountain lifestyle. As I made my way up for my first time, a few locals led me right to the sweet spots on the North Bowl and it was truly heaven-on-earth.
Off the mountain, Breckenridge is just as amazing. The town itself is full of history and character, with buildings that date back to the Gold Rush era. You can stroll down Main Street and pop into local shops, grab a beer at a brewery, or dig into some delicious food at one of the many restaurants. One thing is for sure - you can't go wrong with Breck!
