Thor - Sector 2 Carve Helmet

Thor keeps riders covered when the track gets rough and the pace gets wild. Thor - Sector 2 Carve Helmet feels like gear built by people who actually ride, the fit is right, the ventilation works, and the protection doesn’t make you pay for it with extra bulk. Pop it on, snap the strap, and you’re focused on lines, not on fighting your lid.

Thor - Sector 2 Carve Helmet is a purpose-built motocross/MTB-style helmet from Thor designed for real-world laps, practice days, race starts, and everything in between. The shell shape sits stable at speed and doesn’t tug when you look side to side, while generous intake and exhaust ports move air through the helmet so heat can escape instead of building up. Inside, the moisture-wicking liner pulls sweat off your skin and dries fast between motos; pads are removable and washable so the helmet stays fresh after hard weekends. Impact management is handled by a multi-density EPS that spreads and manages energy, paired with a smooth interior finish so it sits comfortably against your head without hot spots. The visor is positioned to block roost and low sun without feeling in your way, and it’s designed to release under abnormal load for added impact management. The chinbar has real breathing room, making it easier to pull air when you’re deep in a sprint, and the eyeport accommodates modern goggles with a secure seal. Thor’s fitment is straightforward, you don’t need to size up just to get cheek pads that feel right, and the D‑ring closure stays secure, lap after lap. For riders chasing dependable protection, consistent comfort, and clean style, this helmet delivers a balanced package that’s easy to live with and confidence-inspiring on track. It’s the kind of lid you forget about once the gate drops, and that’s the whole point.

Why We Like It The helmet feels planted and predictable, no weird lift at speed, no pressure points, just a clean fit that lets you ride loose. Vent ports actually move air, so you finish a moto less cooked, and the liner doesn’t hold onto sweat funk. Little touches like the easy-wash pads and a visor that stays put until you need it make this a set‑and‑forget lid that earns trust.

Why It’ll Work for You If you want a helmet that’s simple, protective, and comfortable without chasing gimmicks, this checks the boxes. It breathes on hot days, the interior is soft and easy to clean, and the fit is straightforward. You get stable handling at speed, room to breathe in the chinbar, and goggles sit in clean with a wide field of view, all the stuff that matters when you’re actually riding.

God Works to Deepen Faith and Enlarge Love
Format: Paperback
What a great little book! I hope you will pick up a copy, read it, and reread it. Don't be put off by its brevity (123 pages including end notes and indices). There is depth here. Powlison rejects a "one-size-fits-all" understanding of sanctification, calling for "multiple mundane examples" of Christian growth--calling, in short, for stories of real people in real circumstances, people in and through whom God works in a great variety of ways to deepen faith (vertical transformation) and enlarge love (horizontal transformation). There are several great "take aways" in this book: seven implications of the cross of Christ, five cooperating elements of sanctification, three features of the stories people tell when they describe how God works in their lives to bring about change, and, on top of that, three great stories of growth in grace. I highly recommend David Powlison's How Does Sanctification Work? It won't take you long to read, and it will repay the time you invest with multiple dividends.

Loving Self and Others Well as We Grow
Format: Kindle
This is an excellent discussion of how we ourselves change/mature and how we can love others well on their unique journey. And unique is stressed here - he's a counselor and well knows that people are unique and deserve and require unique counsel. We all receive love differently, in the specific moment and in the specific stage of life and circumstance. His theology is sound and his writing is oh so very clear and beautiful. I almost weep with joy at some of his deep reflections. His "own story" chapters are very insightful as samples of how he and we move from a place we don't want to be (unloving and selfish) to where we can be (loving other well). It's less of a checklist of how to do this than an observation of what's happened in his life and others. It can give a teachable heart a boost of self-compassion and compassion for others.

Need people less, love them more.
Format: Paperback
I just finished this book. AWESOME!!! I got the book simply because of the title and one phrase that hit me hard. "We have to learn to need people less and love them more." The introduction is such that it gets you excited about what you are about to read. But then, the first few chapters, you almost feel as if you've been deceived. But he's just setting things up. I don't think I've ever read a book that continues to get better as you read it. The best part of the book is the last section of the last chapter. Get it. Read it. You will benefit. I promise. Learn to need people less and love them more as you begin decrease your fear of man and increase your fear of the Lord.

Please Please Read This Book!
Format: Paperback
I bought this recent copy for a teen I know who I felt it would help, but I first read When People Are Big years ago. It is so, so helpful for breaking out of the self-absorption that comes with a variety of human conditions, including victimization, being introverted, neurodivergent, socially fearful, or just plain old-fashioned proud, vain, or narcissistic. Obviously, a book can't do that all by itself, but it can point you on the path to stop fearing people and caring, in the wrong way, what they think of you. The book is well-balanced, not blaming people who have been victimized for the challenges they face, but also not leaving them trapped in pain like so much psychological theory does. The book is written for professing Christians, since ultimately, Jesus is the only Way out of all of this. But if you are not a Christian, I still recommend you try reading it for a refreshing new approach to a familiar problem.
