The unique mix of heavy riffs, banging blastbeats and extreme growls with electronic rhythms, synth-pads and pop sing-alongs makes this group from Germany's Dresden standout. "Modern Death Pop" is heavily recommended is to the fans of Eskimo Callboy or Enter Shikari! BIO: GROOVENOM are on a mission: The sextet from Dresden has lined up since 2014 up to blow some fresh air into the increasingly uniform metal sound and to declare war on the scene 'police' (i.e. hidebound people who set their sights on pointing out everything that goes against the established standards in metal and denouncing it as 'untrue') with a raised middle finger. Metalcore? Trancecore? Deathcore? Post-Hardcore? Or dance metal? With their third longplayer, the bustling shooting stars finally have an answer for all those, who futilely keep trying to put a stamp on their sound: This is MODERN DEATH POP, baby! Remaining true to their style, GROOVENOM merge solid down tuning-riffs, rough breakdowns, forceful growls and virtuosic drumming with techno beats, trendy sing-a-longs and rap parts in 12 bombastic new tracks. So in "Pu$$y Dance" classic metalcore meets with banging synthiepop and some easygoing whoo-hoos, while "FCK MTL" provocatively fields hiphop beats, a 90's euro-dance chorus and a hooting horn against the scene's purists, epic synthesizer walls link the rough vocals in "Proud 2 B Loud" to a stadium-worthy guitar solo and "Shut The F#ck App" comes up with an iconic 8-bit-style intro. Last but not least there's "Hallo Welt", which has been released as a single beforehand: An atypically gloomy, mature song featuring lyrics written in German language for the first time. MODERN DEATH POP has more glam, more pop, more slam that it's predecessor PINK LION, is multifarious, wonderfully nonconformist, inexorably danceable and goes right in the kisser. GROOVENOM means laughing, crying, moshing, raving and en passant making the world a better place! And MODERN DEATH POP is simply a must-buy for fans of ESKIMO CALLBOY or ENTER SHIKARI!

Very good book!
Format: Kindle
I really enjoyed reading “Count my lucky stars”. It was a great sapphic romance - sweet, funny and entertaining. It was the last book in the series and it summed up all the three couples from the series perfectly. I really liked Margot and just the way she is and also I felt for Olivia because I am similar - I usually put other needs above my own. They were just great together - they balanced each other out. Very good read.

Great conclusion to this series!
Format: Paperback
Margot is sure that long-term relationships just aren't for her. Been there. Blew through the tissue box. Wrote the novel. Done that. All her friends found their life mate, and that makes social gatherings a bit awkward now, but it's fine, really. Even the wedding planning she's invited along to with her friends, that's cool. Well, it was, until Olivia, her long lost childhood friend, happens to be a wedding planner they run into. Margot and Olivia's first relationship didn't go so well, and Olivia has since been married and divorced. Margot thinks Olivia is still as much a beautiful goddess as ever, and opportunity knocks when Olivia is stranded with nowhere to go. Margot is happy to offer up a spare room, but even though she and Olivia are getting along swimmingly, and sparks are flying between them, is Olivia what she really wants? When their first voyage into the unknown was capsized, are they fated to be lost at sea once more, or will the stars guide them to a brighter future than they could ever have hoped for?
I've followed the stars all the way to the end of the Written in the Stars trilogy, and what have I found? A trio of excellent stories about love, friendship, hardship, communication, and the self. Margot and Olivia make a fun and interesting second chance pairing, with Margot being the prickly pear, and Olivia being really sweet. Margot is rough around the edges partially because she has a difficult time trusting, which I understand, and that along with other factors compounds into miscommunication along the way. While this story can be read as a standalone, I think that readers who've partaken of the first two entries will have plenty to enjoy, with Brendon, Elle, and other favorites returning for their part in Margot and Olivia's story.
Margot and Olivia have the opportunity for a second chance, but giving somebody you used to love a second chance is difficult, no? Margot asks a lot of Olivia, and I understand why, but in the end, love is all about taking that uncertain leap in hopes of landing together on your feet. Their intimate scenes are rather spicy, so don't expect anything closed door about their romance. Count Your Lucky Stars is the story of two girls who fell out of love doing their best to find each other again, and I'm counting my own lucky stars for having the pleasure of enjoying this story and these characters across an entire trilogy. Recommended for readers who believe in second chances, enjoy romance between disparate personalities, enjoy sapphic romance, and fans of this friend group's previous two stories, which I also recommend.
