The second film starring The Beatles in 1965, "Help! (The Four Idols), the second film starring The Beatles in 1965, was released in theaters in the 1960s, broadcast on TV in the 1970s, and repeatedly released on video and DVD in the 1980s and later, but now the rare original movie version from the 1965 release and a video documentary including previously unreleased scenes have been compiled into "THE MOVIE SPECIAL COLLECTION" is now available again as a special collector's edition on 2 DVDs! The main DVD, "The Original Movie Version" from the 1965 release features the original 4:3 aspect ratio with no screen cropping and the original mono soundtrack, just as it was when it was released in theaters. The current version has been edited by trimming the top and bottom of the screen to accommodate the widescreen (16:9) format, which cuts off the part of the film that could originally be seen. The audio has also been remixed and replaced with stereo instead of the original mono. In the 80's, the first video version was close to the original, but the quality of the original was poor and the playback environment is disappearing. The "original movie version" included in this release is not a video reconstruction of the past, but is recorded from a video source that retains good master quality. The "Original Movie Version" on this DVD is not a video reconstruction from the past, but a master quality video source, which is different from what is currently available.
The second DVD contains "Special Features," a collection of rare video documentaries.
