Landscapes is the latest release from prolific Yorkshire born composer and producer Kirk Barley (Bambooman). Across a tight 34-minute runtime, the album presents eleven short pieces that inhabit an exotic, other-worldly space of chiming guitars, buzzing insects, and squelching synth tones. Working with looped fragments of his own instrumental, electronic, and field-recorded sounds, Barley assembled the tracks from edited improvisations, some of them enriched with live drums from Matt Davies. Barley's skittering, off-kilter loops overlap freely, combining with meter-less, free-jazz-inspired drumming, and processed environmental field recordings to craft gently surging sonic environments. At once static and constantly shifting, the pieces unfold themselves like views of a landscape, where we take in individual details one at a time while always remaining aware of the whole. Deeply influenced by the "Fourth World" philosophies of trumpeter Jon Hassell, champion of a music bridging global traditions and contemporary technologies, Landscapes integrates electro-acoustic techniques with suggestions of a variety of non-western musical forms, from the pitched percussion effects of "Water Wheel" (calling to mind the incredible bamboo tube percussion of Solomon Islands music) to the stately Gamelan-esque procession of clanging metallic tones and deep, filtered synth chords that underlies the pop and crackle of fireworks on "Ark". Several pieces make use of a drifting pentatonic harmony that brings them close to the work of Japanese ambient pioneer Hiroshi Yoshimura, though Barley's productions are so rich in detail and surprise that they demand active listening. At other times, a distinctly English sensibility makes itself felt in the pastoral expanses of gently spaced chords and chiming guitar harmonics, calling up the delicate miniatures of Simon Fisher Turner and Colin Lloyd Tucker's cult Deux Filles project. Landscapes is an unassuming but powerful work that uses a rich array of details, materials, and techniques to conjure 11 snapshots of a unique sound world, one both comforting and disorienting. Recommended for anyone moved by the evocative sketches of Eno's Music for Films (1976), the fourth world fusion of Jon Hassell, the abstract explorations of the far-side of club music techniques of Giuseppe Ielasi/Inventing Masks or the tropical soundscapes of Lievens Martens/Dolphins Into The Future.

This Thing WORKS!!!
Color: White
I have to rave about the quality and the "intelligence" of this product. When I first got it, I installed it in my kitchen along an exterior wall, about 25' away from cooking appliances. I noticed within the first week that the air in our house smelled much cleaner and overall fresher. It was a noticeable difference. We live right next to a gravel road, so there is constantly dust floating around. We notice far less dust in the air as well. The purifier was very easy to set up. I removed it from the box, inserted the filter, and plugged it in.
Where I really noticed that it does a fantastic job was when a plastic packet got left on our stove element and began melting. The smoke and smell were obvious right away, and this purifier kicked in immediately, going into overdrive and running at full speed to get the smell and a little bit of smoke out of the room. I was extremely impressed.
10/10 would recommend this product.

Way above expectations
Color: White
I was originally looking to purchase a more expensive brand to match the smaller purifier I own but this one was on sale, considerably less expensive than the one I had my eye on. I decided to give the mooka a shot and I was highly impressed. Being a smoker, I was just looking for something to help a little with air quality, I was not expecting this thing to completely filter all the air in the room, removing all the smoke and leaving behind completely pristine, clean air in 30 minutes! As I was smoking, the purifier automatically kicked into high gear, did its job and returned to the near silent setting. Awesome! The machine displays a number that corresponds with the current air quality and a light that changes from red to green, depending on the amount of particles in the air while the fan speed runs accordingly. This feature works well, smoking, cooking or anything that releases particles will instantly be detected. The build quality is on par with the more expensive unit that I have but honestly, I prefer this machine, regardless of price! During normal operation, you can barely hear it but it does get louder when the fan ramps up. On it’s higher setting, it is as loud as a box fan on medium speed and when the mooka goes max speed, it matches the sound level of a box fan set to high speed, if that helps.

Solid purchase for everyday use.
Color: Orange
Can’t really say to much about these. They have a strong magnet and are durable enough for everyday use. I use them to hang my compression leggings from normatec as well as other accessories. They work well and are at an affordable price. Hook size is ok. I feel like most items you would hang have no issue. Have not loaded them with to much weight but I’m sure they can hold a fair amount.

can always use more
Color: Black
I keep buying more of these for fitness equipment storage. I got long and short hook models and very strong magnets hold up pull down attachments weighing 10lbs or more. Works great for belts, carabiners and anything you want to organize in the weight room.
