Recordings 1980-1981 is a compilation featuring Those Little Aliens & This Little Alien. There are several components that would contribute to what would become Those Little Aliens & This Little Aliens and the zine/labels Flowmotion, Image 341 and Un-Ltd Abilities, all run by British DIY protagonists Ian Dobson and Gordon Hope. The first of these came with the advent of punk and especially the "Anarchy Tour" which made it's much-delayed debut in their home town of Leeds in December 1976 and introduced Ian Dobson to a scene that threw him into wholeheartedly as a seventeen year old looking for something different. With the "anybody can do it" ethos in mind, he invested in a cheap electric guitar and a drum kit. As the 1-2-3 of punk became either increasingly repetitive or commercialized, the drum kit was sold and the guitar was left to gather dust until early 1978, when an unlikely meeting in a record store with an intriguing sounding album in an almost plain white sleeve would turn Dobson's preconceptions of what music should be on it's head. That album, Throbbing Gristle's The Second Annual Report (IRL 001CD/LP, 1977), seemed to dispense with the ethos of "This is a chord, this is another, this is a third. Now form a band" altogether and suggested that those strange noises from a guitar were worth exploring. The advent of affordable monophonic/duophonic synths that didn't take up an entire room was also important. The recordings collected here using the Korg MS20, the Octave Cat, the legendary, but somewhat troublesome Wasp as well as the Korg SQ10 sequencer and the Boss Dr. Rhythm DR55. Recording was via a Tandberg 10x10 stereo recorder, Teac A108 Sync cassette deck through a Tensai 2030 amp, apart from the three compilation tracks which were recorded at the wonderful Colin Potter's, a 4-track studio near York. All of this would have travelled no further than a bedroom in Harehills, Leeds without the humble compact audio cassette which, via a process known as "Magnitizdat", popularized by non-government approved bands in Soviet Russia, enabled the recopying and distribution of music for a minimal outlay, usually just a blank cassette, and stamps for the return postage. This release features the aforementioned compilation tracks along with tracks from the cassette releases Incident in Moderan (1980), Variable (1980) and Synthesizer Specialist (1980).
Tracks:
1.1 Ismalia (3:06)
1.2 Low Point X (2:49)
1.3 Sentimental (1:58)

Excellent resource for couples
Format: Kindle
Good book! Chapters are short, to the point, and practical. My wife and I read this together and were blessed by it. You and Me Forever is unlike other marriage books. Couples are taught to live together on mission making God's will their highest priority - not their own personal happiness or security. It's taught that while marriage and family are wonderful things, good things can become an idol. The Chans seek to help people gain a biblical perspective on marriage and family, and they do a great job.
Like other books from Francis Chan, arguments made are simple, easy to understand and backed up with scripture. Chapters are mostly written by Francis and Lisa together, though they do contain a section written exclusively by Lisa (my wife especially connected with these). Chapters close with meaningful reflection questions that couples should take advantage of - doing so blessed my marriage and they can yours too.
If you enjoyed the book Crazy Love or simply want to read an excellent book for Christian couples, this is a good one. I'm recommending everyone at my church pick it up.

amazing! I wish I had read this marriage book ...
Format: Paperback
Ok...amazing! I wish I had read this marriage book about 9 years and 20 marriage books ago! This book changed the way I viewed EVERYTHING. I saw some reviewers mention they read Crazy Love by Francis Chan first which is what drew them to this, so I'm doing the opposite. I loved this one SO much I am going to read Crazy Love next! I've handed my copy off to a friend and I've recommended to many others. Everyone who has read it has told me they've been spreading the word. It was eye-opening for me as a wife and mother, to realize that living a Christian life is MUCH much more than having a happy family. My kids are still toddlers and I'm SO thankful for having read this book now so that we can truly center our marriage and family around Christ and show our children that living the authentic Christian life is more than just trying to be a perfect family. The book dives into much more, but that parenting chapter towards the end really hit me hard! (In a good way!!).
I can't say enough for how genuinely inspirational this whole book was! It's one I couldn't put down and I can't wait to get it back so I can read it again.

For marriage or for life?
Format: Paperback
My fiancé and I bought this book through the recommendation of a friend. We really enjoyed going through this book together as Mr. and Mrs. Chan discuss the importance of Christianity not only in marriage but also in our day to day lifestyles. Before starting "You and Me Forever," my fiancé and I had recently finished "The Meaning of Marriage" by Tim Keller, which I would highly recommend anyone who is interested in getting a fundamental view on marriage in the light of the gospel. Both books are similar in the aspect of this topic, however, "You and Me Forever" was a great book to read because it was not a overly saturated religious book about marriage. This book really challenges the readers to live to not only think of marriage in the light of the gospel but also their daily lives.
So many marriage books are just that, marriage books. Do this, do that, and you will have a successful marriage. This book is unique in the sense of really pushing the reader to dig deeper in their spiritual life. Encouraging the growth in their heart rather than just biblically saturated "go to advice" for a better or stronger marriage.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone, whether you are married, single, young or old. This book gives a great view of what your marriage, life, and heart should look like in the light of eternity!

Most important marriage book
Format: Paperback
This book is excellent and a must read for every Christian who’s married. This draws our attention off ourselves and even a “great marriage” and focuses our attention and eyes on CHRIST and the mission He gave us.

It's a beautiful, God-exalting
Format: Hardcover
Still reading this with my wife and meeting up to go over the questions. It's a beautiful, God-exalting, Christ-centered view of marriage and how we are joined together for the mission of God, not just to stare at each other.
An analogy that I always like to use (and I came up with one day randomly) was that my marriage is like a wedding cake. Sure, we bought the cake. Sure, we eat the first slice (and feed each other). But, if that cake doesn't get shared and enjoyed by the people around us, it's not serving it's purpose. In marriage, yes, we serve and love each other first, as is right, but if our marriage is only for us, then I believe we aren't using it the way God intended.
I love Francis and Lisa Chan and this is a great book - not on how to have a great marriage, but how to view marriage in light of eternity and fuel us towards gospel-driven, God-honoring mission. We have only been married two years, but I see now that God is calling us to more, and we want to honor God in all that we do. I will recommend this book to others, but only once I finish the book. I'll update later with a more comprehensive review.
