Many of our customers need to track time in two separate time zones easily, without the need for additional hands or complications. Traditionally, a dedicated GMT watch was the solution, but there's now a simpler alternative. Most dive watches feature a "count-up" bezel for diving applications. However, demand has increased for a 12-hour bezel instead. Modern divers often use a dive computer, making the traditional bezel function less critical. This change enhances the watch's flexibility while maintaining the 300m/1000ft water resistance and classic diver watch appearance.

The 12-hour bezel design is incredibly simple to use. Unlike dedicated GMT watches, which have an additional hand, you offset the bezel by the required number of hours. For example, if you are in Paris and want to know the time in Miami (6 hours behind), turn the bezel until 9 o'clock aligns with the 3-hour marker. This adjustment allows you to track time across different zones effortlessly.

This watch is based on a 1960s military specification for diver's watches but features several modern enhancements. While the original 1960s models were rated for 200m (660ft) water resistance, this watch boasts a 300m (1000ft) rating. It includes a screw-down locking crown, screw caseback, Luminova for enhanced visibility, and a sophisticated hybrid movement that combines the classic sweep second hand of an automatic watch with the precision of a quartz movement. Additionally, the watch has a hacking feature for synchronization or to stop the watch and conserve power if it won't be used for an extended period.

Key Features:

  • Enhanced Water Resistance: Upgraded from the original 200m (660ft) to 300m (1000ft)
  • Movement: Mechanical quartz hybrid for precision and traditional aesthetics
  • Crown: Screw-down locking crown for enhanced security
  • Caseback: Screw caseback for added durability
  • Crystal: Hardened mineral crystal for improved resilience
  • Illumination: Luminova paint for superior visibility in low-light conditions
  • Historical Accuracy: Features an encircled "T" for historical authenticity while using Luminova instead of Tritium

Hybrid Movement:

The MWC hybrid diver's watch combines the best of both new and traditional watchmaking technologies. The movement is powered by a battery and regulated by a quartz crystal, but the hands are mechanically actuated and controlled. This setup provides the reliability and low maintenance of a quartz watch with the desirable features of a mechanical movement, such as a sweep second hand.

Specifications:

  • Water Resistance: 300m / 1000ft
  • Movement: Mechanical quartz hybrid
  • Crown: Screw-down locking crown
  • Caseback: Screw caseback
  • Crystal: Hardened mineral crystal
  • Case Diameter: 39mm
  • Thickness: 14.4mm
  • Lug to Lug: 47.5mm
  • Weight: 74g
  • Illumination: Luminova paint
  • Strap: 20mm black NATO webbing strap

Luminova vs. Tritium:

Although this watch uses Luminova instead of Tritium (common in the 1960s), it features an encircled "T" on the dial for historical accuracy. Luminova does not deteriorate with age and is non-radioactive, providing a safer and longer-lasting luminescence. The paint color mimics the appearance of aged Tritium, adding to the watch's vintage appeal.

This watch combines the reliability and precision of modern technology with the timeless design and functionality of vintage military diver's watches. Its robust features and user-friendly design make it an excellent choice for both professionals and enthusiasts, ensuring it meets the needs of today's demanding users while honoring its historical roots.

Great book!
Format: Paperback
This book is a great complement to my book "The Secret To Getting A Job After College". While I cover the details about resumes and cover letters, this book does a very effective job addressing issues related to determining what you should think about doing after college and the author also has a valuable section on how to prepare your elevator speech. I recommend it for everyone who is in college or has graduated in the past few years and I now consider it required reading for many of my students.

Career Coach Recommended!

As a Career Coach, I find this book to be a great resource for college students and recent grads who are interested in preparing for a rewarding career after graduation. Lindsey Pollack is both knowledgeable and encouraging, and presents multiple strategies for students to be career-ready in today's competitive job market. A few topics include interview preparation, networking, service events, and blogging. A great read for the millennial student or job seeker, regardless of whether they have identified their career path or not.

This is by far the most helpful book I have actually enjoyed reading for school
Format: Paperback
I had to purchase this book for my pre-professional seminar class. This is by far the most helpful book I have actually enjoyed reading for school. This book covers a wide range of topics and is very specific on the steps take to to reach your career goals. As a student who is undeclared I found this book very valuable. I also like the style of writing, the author talks to you like a friend.

Now what I was looking for
Format: Paperback
I was looking more for advice on getting from a major with no clear career applications(ie. not doctor, lawyer or teacher) to a career that I would be able to live with and perhaps enjoy. This guide helps you more if you have a pretty clear idea what you want to do and are ready to make a full time job of finding your career, especially if you are not willing to settle for "paying the bills" or "get out of the parents' house". For those of you lucky enough to have not picked a major yet, just remember that picking a major needs to corrolate to getting a job, not just "learning stuff". For everyone else, if you have a dream, seems like this book will help you get there. If you don't yet have a dream, I would strongly suggest tackling that area first. This book mainly just suggests getting a career profile(which is more of other people telling you what you should do, instead of you finding out what you want to do). There's a lot of really helpful and very current information in here. You have to be ready to jump on it though.

Outstanding! An absolute must for college students
Format: Paperback
I picked this book up hoping it would prepare me for the job market, which I was already pretty confident about. It was incredibly eye opening, and enlightened me about dozens of things I was overlooking--like using Facebook as my "professional friend" and getting a linkedin account. It was a little stressful seeing how much I could do, but I've been working through the tips one at a time and its really built momentum in my professional brand even as an undergraduate. Now, I have something to do to build my career everyday.
