Audemars Piguet “TV Case” Oversize Dress Watch – 18K White Gold Blue Dial (Calibre 2001, Circa 1970s)

The Audemars Piguet “TV Case” Oversize is a rare and striking expression of the brand’s creative spirit during the 1970s—a period when the maison explored bold new forms while maintaining its traditional craftsmanship and ultra-thin mechanical excellence. This exceptional example, crafted entirely in solid 18K white gold, features a deep blue dial, manual Calibre 2001, and comes complete with its original box, strap, and buckle. Beautifully preserved and fully original, it represents a true connoisseur’s find.

The Case – Sculptural White Gold Modernism

The 34 x 32 mm white gold case (excluding crown and lugs) is immediately recognizable for its distinctive “TV screen” design—a hallmark of avant-garde 1970s horology. With a lug-to-lug length of 39.5 mm, the watch wears elegantly yet confidently, its proportions perfectly capturing the interplay between geometry and refinement that defined Audemars Piguet’s experimental dress watches of the era.

The case remains unpolished, preserving its crisp edges and deep hallmarks—a true rarity for a watch of this age. The white gold Audemars Piguet crown completes the composition, understated yet unmistakably luxurious.

Its minimalist, architectural form demonstrates the maison’s ability to blend cutting-edge design with timeless elegance—decades before integrated and shaped cases became mainstream.

The Dial – Deep Blue Sophistication

The very dark blue dial is mesmerizing, shifting between navy and almost black depending on the light. Its minimalist layout—clean baton indices and slim hands—lets the unique color and texture take center stage. The effect is quietly hypnotic, a reminder of how Audemars Piguet balanced bold design with restraint.

This dial, factory original, remains in stunning condition, showing only gentle aging consistent with its vintage nature. The simplicity and depth of the color make it one of the most elegant dials from the brand’s pre-Royal Oak era.

The Movement – Audemars Piguet Calibre 2001, Ultra-Thin Mastery

Powering this watch is the Audemars Piguet Calibre 2001, a manual-wound ultra-thin movement that stands as a technical triumph of its time. The calibre is beautifully constructed—slim, reliable, and finished to haute horlogerie standards, as expected from Audemars Piguet’s workshops in Le Brassus.

Renowned for its precision and delicacy, the Cal. 2001 is part of the same lineage that inspired many of AP’s finest dress watches throughout the 1960s and 1970s. The movement runs smoothly and accurately, underscoring its quality and the care with which this piece has been preserved.

The Strap & Buckle – All Original AP

This example retains its original Audemars Piguet alligator leather strap, adding an authentic touch to its already remarkable completeness. (Please note that for sales outside the EU, the strap may be removed due to CITES regulationsgoverning exotic leathers.)

Accompanying it is the original 18K white gold Audemars Piguet pin buckle, made by Wenger, one of AP’s historic Swiss suppliers. Together, they complete a fully original and cohesive presentation.

The watch also comes with its original Audemars Piguet box, making it an extraordinarily complete and collectible example.

Why This Watch?

The Audemars Piguet “TV Case” Oversize Blue Dial represents a rare convergence of design innovation and mechanical artistry. Fluffy and Nice Omegaverse
Format: Kindle
… this would have made 5 stars but for 2 reasons. A.) there were quite a few typos; misspelled words, missing quotations, “the his” mistakes, and various signs that maybe a proofread would do good. B.) the writing was quite textbook. Late blooming omega is struggling with her new self, finds a absurdly wealthy pack of alphas, every thing is almost insta-love but she resists, then decides to love herself and let everyone be happy. Rian was my favourite (obviously the author’s favourite too because he got the most page time) but I wish we could see more of his CEO side? He went to work maybe ONCE the entire time. Gray was supposed to be the “growly one” but he turned out to be puppy dog. Lucas was a genius brainiac doctor - but also super alpha with an aggressive hindbrain with a breeding k*nk?? And then there was no actual “breeding”?? Spice 3/5 - normally omegaverse books are super high on messy smut but this was tamer. Romance 3/5 - insta-love that was then resisted because of personal hangup’s Plot 2/5 - weird paced head hopping, showing the same scene from different POV’s that made me feel like it was 2 steps backward, 1 step forward. Humour 4/5 - there were a dozen lines that genuinely made me chuckle out loud Would have been five stars but the lack of proofreading and the predictable plot made me unable to get up to ADORED IT level - four stars is still and official ENJOYED IT, y’all. This isn’t a bad rating. The “Club Heat” has intriguing possibilities so I’m going to give the second one a shot.

Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5

A good read
Format: Kindle
Multiple points of view. 3 Alpha men and an Omega male. She is a Beta in training for a new program placing betas in Alpha/Omega packs. Mila is only doing the program for the money to take care of her dad. She wasn't expecting to fall for a pack but when she sees this packs Omega she is done for. There is just something about him. His Alphas are good looking as well. Too bad she is hiding a secret and their government is acting shady. I liked it and can't wait to see where their story goes.

Slightly repetitive but I did love some things
Format: Kindle
I love this type of story. And omegaverse is one of my all time favorite genres. But there are a few things that pulled me out of my enjoyment while I was reading. It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2. Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.
