The Allen-Bradley 1761-L20BWA-5A is a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) that belongs to the Bulletin 1761 MicroLogix 1000 product family. This MicroLogix controller is designed with built-in discrete and analog input channels, enabling this controller to implement automatic and manual control of discrete and analog loop control. provided with analog control loop capability. The 1761-L20BWA-5A is especially compatible for use as automation controller of micro and small machines and processes. It is a general-purpose controller that is ideally used in machine control, material handling, valve sequencing and similar applications of simple complexity.

This 1761-L20BWA-5A is powered by an external AC supply voltage range of 85-264V AC with rated power consumption of 30VA when supplied with 120VAC and 36VA when operated by 240VAC nominal input supply and rated to withstand an inrush current of 30A for 8 ms.

The 1761-L20BWA-5A is provided with Twelve (12) Digital input channels, with nominal operating voltage of 24VDC. These input channels are generally used for interfacing ON/OFF devices such as switches, auxiliary contacts, proximity sensors and other similarly operating devices. Additionally, the 1761-L20BWA-5A has Eight (8) Relay output channels that may be operated in both DC and AC voltages such as 24-125 VDC or 120/240VAC. These relay output channels come with individual for individual isolation. These relay output channels can be used to actuate and energize electrical loads including solenoid or motorized actuated devices, indicating devices such as pilot lamps, sounding devices, and motor control devices such as motor starters. The built-in analog inputs are compatible with analog signal ranges of +/- 10VDC and +/-20mA while the provided analog output channels are able to deliver 0-10VDC or 4-20 mA.

An RS-232 port connects the 1761-L20BWA-5A to a peer-to-peer network. It uses the Device Net Interface (DNI) for fast response, low cost, and reliability. Point-to-point communications can be implemented via the DF1 Half- and Full-Duplex protocols.

The 1761-L20BWA-5A supports ladder logic programming language. The 1761-L20BWA-5A controller has an execution time of 1.56 milliseconds and a throughput of 1.85 milliseconds for a typical 500 instructions program.

Always order big!
I needed a minimum of 2 AWG wire to create interconnects between batteries in a large bank. If you note, these say 1/0 Gauge, not AWG. What is 1/0 Gauge? Who knows, it's fake. Meaningless, because it is not standardized so you have no clue what you are getting. What did I get for my 1/0 Gauge wire? Something that was in between 1 and 2 AWG (closer to 1). This was perfect for my needs because I knew darn well how big to order when they say gauge instead of AWG. As a rule of thumb: If they as gauge, order 3 - 4 sizes larger than you need in AWG. This will always net you larger wire than you need but I have never had it net me wire smaller than I needed. At the price I got it for during prime days, it was a steal for 2 AWG wire, so I win! I hope you found this helpful!

Heavy duty and has lasted three years so far
I have had this relay installed in the engine bay of my Lexus RX 300, functioning to link the front battery to the additional battery in the trunk whenever the ignition is on. The relay has worked reliably for about three years now with no complaints besides one minor comment, be careful when threading down the nut on the Low voltage side. It is prone to stripping

Heavy Duty!!
Performed extremely well. No buzzzing or poor connection. Extremely well built and has been working issue free for over 6 months! Instalation can be a bit difficult due to size and weight. Not really a problem.
