Spectropia, or Surprising Spectral Illusions Showing Ghosts EverywhereHave you ever seen a ghost? Now you can see them in the comfort of your own home. In 1864, when J. H. Have you ever seen a ghost? Now you can see them in the comfort of your own home.

In 1864, when J. H. Brown's Spectropia was first published, beliefs in spirits were reaching a high point. Mediums across the country were selling the idea of communication with the afterlife. And people were buying it. With the Civil War raging, death was plaguing America and grieving families were willing to cling to any hope of reconnecting with lost loved ones.

As s ances conjured up spirits through rappings on walls, levitating tables, mysterious images in photographs, and other fantastic appearances, Brown decided to do something about it. He had had enough of "the absurd follies of spiritualism." As Brown notes in the pages of this book, "All the senses are more or less subject to deception, but the eye is pre-eminently so." With the sixteen color plates in Spectropia, he created a way for anyone to see ghosts through nothing more than science.

Follow Brown's simple instructions and the spectres within these pages will take shape in your newly haunted house. Only for a short time though, after which they will vanish beyond the veil.

This new edition republishes the original text and illustrations in FULL COLOR, and includes a foreword by author and founder of WeirdHistorian.com, Marc Hartzman. ABCnews.com has called him "one of America's leading connoisseurs of the bizarre."

They are long enough. Love them.
Finally comfortable pants that fit me in length and look great. I’m buying another pair in black.

Nice!
Fit Type: 33" Inseam, Size: Medium, Color: White
Surprisingly nice. Fit is good and just a bit long. I expected shrinkage, however, after washing in cold water and drying warm, there is none that I could see. They wash nicely and don't need an iron, at least in the white version that I ordered.

Perfect material for comfort & offering different lengths for taller women!
Fit Type: 33" Inseam, Size: Medium, Color: Black
Great pants with different lengths. I love these pants& being 5”8 I wanted a longer length for wearing heels so the33 inch long works great. I plan on dry cleaning to keep them looking new! I now own 4 pairs & waiting for more colors to be available in the long length.

Great quality, a bit frumpy
Just ok. Probably should have returned these as I feel a bit like a grandma when I wear them, So they hang in my closet. Not super flattering but nice quality and fabric. Thickness is perfect. Style just isn’t for me but comfy

Amazing Fit For Tall Senior Slim Person!
Fit Type: 33" Inseam, Size: Medium, Color: Lake Green
I usually wear a size 8 or 10 or medium. But being 5 foot 11 and weigh 145, it’s very hard to find pants that fit. These in medium are great lightweight and long enough that they touch the floor in the back. Being older I have extra weight in my stomach and waist, but the waist is wide and not tight. It fits nice in the back also and the rise is long enough. Great summer pants for our hot weather in Florida. Even if they do pill some, I have a gadget that removes any pilling so not worried about that. I got the medium in the teal color which is not as bright but a nice color.
