The Panasonic Lumix S PRO 16-35mm f/4 Lens (S-R1635) is a high-performance wide-angle zoom lens designed for the L-Mount system, ideal for landscapes, architecture, street photography, and videography. Offering a versatile zoom range from ultra-wide to wide-angle, it provides flexibility for various types of photography while maintaining superb image quality and professional-grade performance. Here's an in-depth look at its features and benefits:

Key Features:

  1. Ultra-Wide to Wide-Angle Zoom Range:

    • The 16-35mm focal length covers an ultra-wide to wide-angle range, making it perfect for capturing expansive landscapes, architecture, interiors, and tight spaces. This versatile zoom range is ideal for photographers and videographers who need a broad field of view.
  2. Constant f/4 Aperture:

    • The lens features a constant f/4 maximum aperture throughout the zoom range, providing consistent exposure and performance regardless of the focal length. While not as bright as an f/2.8 lens, the f/4 aperture strikes a balance between brightness, size, and weight, making it a versatile and lightweight option for both photography and videography.
  3. Superior Optical Design:

    • The optical construction consists of 12 elements in 9 groups, including 3 aspherical lenses and 1 ED (Extra-low Dispersion) element, which work together to reduce chromatic aberrations, distortions, and other optical imperfections. This ensures sharp, high-contrast images with accurate color reproduction, even in the corners of the frame.
  4. Lightweight and Compact Design:

    • Weighing in at just 500g (1.1 lbs), this lens is relatively lightweight and compact for a wide-angle zoom, making it highly portable and easy to carry during long shooting sessions or while traveling.
  5. Fast and Precise Autofocus:

    • The stepping motor provides smooth, fast, and quiet autofocus performance, making it suitable for both still photography and video recording. The quick and accurate autofocus ensures sharp results, even when capturing fast-moving subjects or shooting video.
  6. Rugged, Weather-Sealed Construction:

    • Built to withstand harsh conditions, the dust, splash, and freeze-resistant design ensures that the lens can be used in challenging outdoor environments. It’s rated to operate in temperatures as low as -10°C (14°F), making it a reliable choice for professional work in demanding weather conditions.
  7. Focus Clutch Mechanism:

    • The lens includes a focus clutch for quick switching between autofocus and manual focus modes, allowing for more control and precision when needed. This is especially useful for videographers and photographers who want the ability to make manual focus adjustments on the fly.
  8. Video-Optimized Performance:

    • The silent and smooth autofocus operation, combined with the minimal focus breathing, makes the lens ideal for video shooting. The constant f/4 aperture ensures consistent exposure during zooming, while its optical performance ensures crisp video footage with minimal distortion.
  9. Dual I.S. 2 Compatible:

    • When paired with compatible Lumix S-series cameras, the lens works with the Dual I.S. 2 stabilization system to deliver enhanced image stabilization. This is especially beneficial for handheld shooting in both photography and videography, providing sharper images and smoother footage.
  10. Beautiful Bokeh with Rounded Diaphragm:

    • The 9-blade rounded diaphragm helps produce pleasing bokeh when shooting at wider apertures. While wide-angle lenses are not typically used for bokeh-heavy shots, the smooth out-of-focus areas contribute to a more professional, polished look when isolating subjects.

Specifications:

  • Focal Length: 16-35mm

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5

A good read
Format: Kindle
Multiple points of view. 3 Alpha men and an Omega male. She is a Beta in training for a new program placing betas in Alpha/Omega packs. Mila is only doing the program for the money to take care of her dad. She wasn't expecting to fall for a pack but when she sees this packs Omega she is done for. There is just something about him. His Alphas are good looking as well. Too bad she is hiding a secret and their government is acting shady. I liked it and can't wait to see where their story goes.

Slightly repetitive but I did love some things
Format: Kindle
I love this type of story. And omegaverse is one of my all time favorite genres. But there are a few things that pulled me out of my enjoyment while I was reading. It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2. Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.
