ZEAL® 100% Pure Natural pet treats are nutritious, reliable, and traceable to their origins. We offer 21 varieties of delectable treats, 6 of which are also loved by cats. Our treats are crafted by hand in our Auckland factory using premium New Zealand free-range meats and wild-caught seafood. Absolutely NO artificial coloring, flavors, additives, or preservatives are included in the making. Reward your pet with a delicious and nutritious source of vitamins.

Which treats are appropriate for your dog's or cat's breed, size, and age?
We advise supervising your pet while they enjoy treats, especially when introducing a new one. Many dogs may try to gulp down a treat without chewing, so keep an eye on pets of all sizes and ages until you're confident they can manage without risk of choking. Cats typically take their time with treats, gnawing rather than swallowing them whole. Smaller dogs might find larger bones or shanks a bit too big, while larger dogs may gobble medium-sized harder treats quickly. Older pets with dental issues might require softer chews, so it’s essential to assess your pet's size and eating habits.

Storage: Keep in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight. Ensure the pouch is zip-locked to maintain freshness. If purchasing in bulk, store any unused product in an airtight container for hygiene and freshness.

Benefits

Pet Oral and Dental Hygiene is crucial for your pets. Since they can't communicate pain, it's important to regularly check their gums and teeth. Chewing on Zeal® Pet Treats can help reduce plaque and tartar. Regularly brushing your pet's teeth is also a great practice!

Treats for training sessions: Treats serve as an excellent tool in training, helping to keep your pet focused on you and the learning process at any age. For training, treats should ideally be small and easy to swallow with minimal chewing, allowing you to reward behaviors quickly and frequently. The best training treats are soft and roughly the size of a pea. Pets are more concerned about the quantity of treats rather than their size. Larger treats can be used as rewards for good behavior, like chunky pieces, which require your pet to pause, chew, and take their time to enjoy.

How to use dog treats effectively: The best way to utilize treats is to reinforce a calm, submissive state. Avoid using treats as rewards for excited, overstimulated behavior. Always let your pet sniff the treat first, but hold it out of reach and wait. Remember, pets, especially dogs, have an excellent sense of smell and can detect scents from over 5 meters away, so you don’t need to put the treat under their nose. After they catch the scent, dogs may initially bounce around or even jump on you. If this happens, communicate your disapproval with your body language and demeanor; your patience as an owner will result in a well-behaved pet. They will learn that a calm approach yields results, sitting and waiting in quiet anticipation. At the moment they’re calm, reward them with the treat. Don’t use treats to reward an excited pet; instead, use them to encourage a calm, submissive demeanor.

Feeding Guidelines

Don’t over-treat ~ While it may be tempting when your furry friend begs for more, resist the urge to be overly generous and keep treat consumption regulated. Treats are intended to supplement your pet's diet. Just like us, too many treats can lead to weight gain and disrupt the balance of your pet's diet, which should be complete and balanced to ensure their health. Ideally, treats should not exceed 10% of your pet's daily caloric needs, so be sure to adjust their regular meal portions to avoid weight gain, especially considering what they’ve consumed in treats during the day. This also applies to treats given as rewards for good behavior. Failure to manage this may result in your pet gradually gaining weight, which can be detrimental to their health.

Treat Wise ~ We always suggest that pets consume treats under supervision, particularly when trying a new treat. Some dogs (which is uncommon for cats) can be overly enthusiastic about tasty snacks and may not chew properly, leading to a choking hazard.

When to give treats to your pet ~ The best time to offer treats is between meals, rather than immediately before or after a meal. Select a treat that your pet will enjoy. If you’re using treats as a training aid, they won’t be as effective right after your pet has eaten a full meal.

Sturdy and holding up so far!
Size: Small 15", Style: 3 Knot, Pattern Name: Dog
This is a quality pull toy that my Yorkie ("Finnegan") loves. It is holding together well as my dog can be a maniac at times. Moderate chewing has not hurt this toy. I do not buy toys with squeakers in them as they worry me. Finn entertains himself and then brings toy to me for a tug of war. I recommend this item. Good bang for the buck!

EXCELLENT QUALITY
Size: Medium 20", Style: 3 Knot, Pattern Name: Dog
I have a German Shepherd/Pointer mix who is 10 months old. He has been in the throes of teething and destructive exploration. He's chewed up clothing and shoes. He chewed a hole in our couch and one in our brand new mattress (He was never left home alone until this point but as my mother came to visit and my boyfriend was back at work, I had no choice but to trust him alone for about an hour a day for 3 or 4 days... he clearly didn't earn that trust). He loves ropes because he can gnaw them, whip them around, and play tug of war or fetch with them at any given time. We love ropes because they keep him occupied and relieve his desire to chew things. Unfortunately, he was destroying rope after rope after rope. Some ropes were worrisome because they would quickly start fraying and falling apart. We would have to help remove strings he has swallowed from his behind while he was out doing his business... My boyfriend's mother picked up a Mammoth TireBiter tire and rope toy for him but it was much too small. Still, he loved it and it stood up very well to his chompers despite being way too small/weak for him. Looking for a larger version of the Mammoth TireBiters, I stumbled across this rope toy and gave it a shot. Let me tell you, I don't think I will ever buy rope toys from any other brand! We have had this rope for over a month and it is still going strong. It does show some small signs of wear and tear but you would swear we bought it last week. It is very strong and durable. It has held up through many long gnawing sessions. It has been put through countless hours of fetch and tug of war with no signs of giving out any time soon. I am so in love with this rope and so is my pup!

Only for tug-a-war play.
Size: Small 15", Style: 3 Knot, Pattern Name: Dog, Size: Small 15", Style: 3 Knot, Pattern Name: Dog
This should only be advertised as a tug-a-war dog toy. I gave the toy to our 6 month old puppy and in, not even, an hour it was ripped apart. He’s not big enough for the larger ones yet. Not sure if I’ll try the next size larger.
