In the closing weeks of World War II, advancing Allied armies uncovered the horror of the Nazi concentration camps. The first camp to be liberated in western Germany was Buchenwald, on April 11, 1945. Within days, a special team of German-speaking intelligence officers from the U.S. Army was dispatched to Buchenwald to interview the prisoners there. In the short time available to them before the inmates' final release from the camp, this team was to prepare a report to be used against the Nazis in future war crimes trials. Nowhere else was such a systematic effort made to talk with prisoners and record their firsthand knowledge of the daily life, structure, and functioning of a concentration camp. The result was an important and unique document, The Buchenwald Report.Shockingly, not long after the war ended The Buchenwald Report was almost lost forever. Only selected portions were entered as evidence at the Nuremberg trials. Professor Eugen Kogon, a prisoner at Buchenwald who assisted the Army specialists in conducting their interviews and writing the report, made use of the material gathered as a background source for his classic book, The Theory and Practice of Hell, but subsequently his copy was accidently destroyed. Thus the complete report was never published, and both the original document and a precious handful of copies gradually disappeared. Recently-more than four decades later-a single, faded carbon copy was discovered, apparently the only one still in existence. It is translated from German and presented here in book form, as its authors intended, for the first time. The book is divided into two parts. The first, the Main Report, formally presents the interview team's findings. It describes in detail the camp's history, how it was organized and functioned, who the prisoners were, how they lived, and how they were treated by their Nazi captors. This part of the report is based on the camp's own incriminating files and records as well as on information obtained from the prisoners. The second part, the Individual Reports, is the heart of the book. Here are the eyewitness accounts of the camp inmates, statements taken while they were still behind the same barbed wire that had held them for so many years. The prisoners relate events so recent, so painful, that they can only speak with strong emotions but often with great eloquence. The interview team had the foresight to take these accounts and organize them according to specific topics, for example forced labor, daily camp life, punishments, resistance, or SS guards. As a result, the book goes beyond simply a collection of individual stories, providing instead a well-rounded portrayal of every aspect of Buchenwald concentration camp from the prisoners' point of view. The Buchenwald Report is one of the most remarkable and important documents to emerge from the Holocaust and World War II. It is a deposition against the monstrous crimes of the Nazis, damning testimony provided by their intended victims in a final act of defiance. These are the voices of people courageous enough to tarry a while longer in hell, so that they could tell the world the truth at last. Perhaps they already sensed that, as Milan Kundera was to put it, "the struggle of man against power is the struggle of memory against forgetting." After fifty years, and too many lapses of memory, we know they were right.

Lightweight, Smooth, and Truly Unscented — My New Go-To Sunscreen
Size: 6 Fl Oz (Pack of 1), Style: SPF 50
This is the first time I tried this Banana Boat unscented sunscreen, and I’m genuinely impressed. One of the biggest things I look for in sunscreen is how it feels on the skin, and this one delivers—it’s not sticky at all and goes on very smooth. It’s easy to apply and absorbs quickly without leaving that heavy, greasy feeling. I also really appreciate that it’s unscented. There’s no strong or unpleasant smell, which makes it much more comfortable to use daily. I’ve used other brands before, like Neutrogena and some higher-priced options, but honestly, this one stands out. It performs just as well—if not better—at a more reasonable price. Overall, this is a great sunscreen that I’ll definitely keep using. Highly recommended if you want something lightweight, smooth, and fragrance-free.

BEST sunscreen on the market
Size: 6 Fl Oz (Pack of 1), Style: SPF 50
This sunscreen is truly the best sunscreen on the market. I have now bought 4 bottles, and plan to purchase more. It is extremely milky, dissolves onto the skin perfectly, it feels like you arent wearing any sunscreen at all. I tell everyone I know about this product. I also purchase the FACE spf which is even more smooth. I wish they sold this in a giant container, because I apply this everyday !! This sunscreen has made it more accessible for me to apply sunscreen daily, it also has very minimal scent, and never burns your eyes. Personally I will never buy another type of sunscreen again after this sunscreen.

Good for acne prone sensitive skin
Size: 3 Fl Oz (Pack of 1), Style: SPF 50
I am in my 30s with combo leaning oil and acne prone fair skin with pigmentation issues and I’m on prescription tretinoin every day. I sometimes use hydroquinone when my pigmentation issues flare up. I wear sunscreen every single day to protect my skin. It’s especially important since I’m on Tret. daily. Being that I have acne prone skin finding a sunscreen has always been a HUGE challenge for me. I’ve spent so much time on SkinSort and similar sites looking through sunscreen ingredients lists trying to find ones that won’t break me out. I’ve purchased PLENTY of k-beauty, j-beauty, EU sunscreens and Us sunscreens from Sephora and drugstore only for them to break me out. My skin is very sensitive/breakout prone to long ingredients lists, emollients, heavy textures, oils and lots of botanicals. I randomly stumbled upon this banana boat sunscreen here on Amazon and saw the short and fairly simple ingredient list that is low (not free of- but low) in occlusive ingredients in comparison to other sunscreens so I decided to order it. It has not broken me out and it feels nice. No alcohol in it, no irritation, no pimples so far. The tube is user friendly, the texture is light and pleasant and the sunscreen is affordable and accessible. I also appreciate how it’s water resistant so can be worn every day OR pool/beach. I highly recommend this to anyone with acne prone or sensitive skin if you are ok with US chemical sunscreens. I prefer chemical sunscreens over mineral sunscreens as mineral sunscreens break me out. This affordable banana boat in my opinion is WAY better for me personally than high end and expensive options that have tons of pore clogging ingredients. Yes even the popular k-beauty sunscreens break me out unfortunately. Everyone is different and anything has a potential to clog someone but for me this sunscreen is way more safe for my acne prone skin than any other sunscreen option I’ve come across. The majority of sunscreens are just packed with pore cloggers, but this banana boat one is minimal in comparison. The tube is travel size (tsa approved) but bigger than your standard 1.7oz sunscreen. This is nice for me because like I mentioned I wear sunscreen every single day and re-apply if I’ll be outside in the sun. While spending time outside I did not burn while wearing this sunscreen and I’m extremely fair skinned. I also did not notice any new pigmentation issues. The texture is nice, light and pleasant. It wears well under makeup. I normally wash my face in the AM, apply a hydrating kbeauty toner, tiny little dots of super light gel moisturizer (not much- I’m oily!) and then apply this banana boat sunscreen on top. Sometimes I wear makeup sometimes I don’t. It works both ways. I have not experienced any pilling. I have not noticed any scent with this sunscreen other than the sunscreen filters smell which isn’t too bad at all in comparison to other sunscreens I’ve tried. The sunscreen itself adds a touch of moisture but I don’t find it to be greasy on my oily skin. In the summer I will probably use a hydrating toner or serum (skip gel moisturizer) and then apply the banana boat sunscreen since I live in a warm climate. Anyways, this is a very nice textured non offensive not overly clogging (for me at least) Us chemical sunscreen that has been very unproblematic for me. I just apply a decent amount every AM and don’t even think about it. Like I mentioned if I’m out in direct sunlight (normally I’m not in the winter) I’ll reapply as needed. In the PM I use bioderma micellar water and then follow it with my Remedy brand face cleanser and it takes the banana boat off fine. I’m interested in trying the spray version (always spray decent amount into hand and then apply!) for my body in the summer. For now I apply this banana boat sensitive face to my face, neck, hands or whatever exposed area. If you tried the banana boat light as air face spf that one is a little more matte and dry but it’s also more pore clogging in both my experience and by ingredients lists. This banana boat sensitive has a bit of a different texture that’s lightweight and still not greasy but it’s more of a traditional light lotion. The banana boat light as air face one felt great but over time gave me more closed comedones. Needless to say I highly recommend this lightweight Us chemical sunscreen to anyone looking for a simple waterproof Us chemical sunscreen that is affordable and easy. Obviously no white cast as its chemical. Sorry for the long review but it might help someone out. Also I purchased this with my own money I am not a part of one of those product reviewing groups- whatever they are called. No shade to anyone lol.
