looseFACTS began as a collection of works created following a diagnosis of Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos (HEDs) was received by the artist, just before EDS awareness month in 2020. As her way of processing her feelings and thoughts, she created two artworks every month till EDS awareness month in 2021. The first were shared with close community support groups who requested a book be collated as they believed the images gave language to conversations they had no words for. Since this time the project has expanded to cover a number of invisible disabilities and illnesses, starting with those that the artist has been diagnosed with or has direct connection with. She named the project looseFACTS as she aims to help educate and raise awareness through art and scientific based evidence. The play on words seemed appropriate for loose connective tissue disorders and the difficulty in finding accurate information about these disorders.
