The SQUIGGLE collection was designed with marble in mind. Originally imagined in Norwegian Pink, this form follows the bubbly nature of the stone. Its playful curves challenge the rigidness of the traditional, allowing the piece to float of the wall. Its minimal construction provides a different experience from each angle.
La Nuit Nude: a marble quarried in Portugal. Portugal is known for its delicate peachy and pink toned stones. Dramatic black veins against a nude background make this stone modern, while the Arabescato-like veining pattern lean it towards the traditional. This is why we call it "the compromise stone" a marble that two partners of varying taste seem to always agree on.
Norwegian Pink: This particular console is made from Norwegian Pink marble, a marble quarried in Norway. This marble comes from a single quarry from the north. Norway produces a few vibrant colored stones that cannot be found in other parts of the world. Some of these quarries spend months iced over and only operate a few months out of the year. Norwegian Pink is extra special, as it is now a woman owned quarry.
Milk: This particular console is made from Milk marble, a marble quarried in Namibia. Namibian marble tends to contain milky crystal veining, giving the essence of movement. This movement brings us back to childhood days of milky swirls in our cereal bowls. What is quite special about this marble, is that it goes from solid to translucent in sunlight, a composition commonly found in onyx.
This piece has been templated by hand and then polished to its final form. Fabricated in Queens, NY.
