Skunk2 drew upon its experience and longstanding technical partnership with championship-winning Compass360 Racing when developing its all-new Cold-Air Intake for the ’06-11 Civic Si. The results are the best performing, best fitting intake system available.Skunk2’s Cold-Air Intake is manufactured from molded polymer plastic for superior intake air insulation when compared to aluminum as well as for a smooth, continuous taper. When compared to aluminum, the thicker polymer material results in a superior thermal barrier and lower intake air temperatures. Each kit includes a 3.5-inch internal diameter lower tube and a tapered, 3.5-inch to 3.0-inch internal diameter upper tube that connects to the factory throttle body with a high-quality, silicone connector (larger diameter connector for use with Skunk2 throttle bodies or similar sold separately). The two-piece design and supplied MAF sensor adapter allows for compatibility with vehicles utilizing the factory ECU. A silicone coupler featuring a smooth, tapered transition between the two tubes is also included for vehicles equipped with aftermarket engine management systems that don’t utilize MAF sensors.
In an effort to reduce the possibility of submerging the air filter during wet conditions, Skunk2’s design positions the air filter downward-facing for approximately two inches of additional ground clearance when compared to competitors’ designs that locate the air filter from the side. That, combined with a design that doesn’t require cutting or modifying the factory fender liners, greatly reduces the chances of water entering the intake during wet conditions.
Each Cold-Air Intake kit includes relocation hardware for the battery, ECU, fuse box, and cooling system reservoir tank as well as high-quality stainless steel clamps and mounting hardware. Unlike other intake systems, only Skunk2’s unique design and brackets allow for the OEM battery to be retained. A specially shaped, silicone upper radiator hose is also included with each kit to ensure maximum clearance for the intake tubing and proper fitment.
Skunk2 developed its unique Cold-Air Intake system in 2009 for back-to-back Grand-Am champions and racing partners Compass360 Racing. Now that the team is retiring its eighth-generation Civic race cars, we can finally release this race-proven technology to enthusiasts.

Eh. I mean, it was warm… but it trapped moisture from me breathing into it, so then it was like wet… which wasn’t ideal. Didn’t stay up on my nose super well. I had to tuck it into my goggles. Easy to wash. Decently soft. Feel like it wasn’t exactly worth the money I spent, but I know it is real wool, so that comes with a price tag. I don’t know…I really didn’t like the water / moisture getting trapped around my mouth and chin and what not. Just causing skin breakout issues. Helped cut the cold wind, but I feel like it could be better, or like there are better options out there maybe. Maybe not meant for snowboarding or exercising, so you’re not breathing as hard into it. Maybe it’s just meant for walking around with it around your neck. I don’t know.

Not very itchy, easy to put in your pocket and warm

I wore turtle fur for a long time and liked it except that it's too big to fit in my pocket. This wool product has really impressed me so far. It doesn't have a zero itch rating but it is very soft. It's surprisingly warm for its weight. Fits easily in my coat pockets. It's comfortable, fits well on both my neck and face as it has some stretch to it. It had a smell when I first opened the package but that went away after a couple of days. I wore it around my neck in 20F and was warm. I would say that using it as a face mask at that temperature would be pushing its limits. I find it to be a good balance between size and warmth for the Kentucky tri-state area in a mild winter. Because of it's size you can easily put a layer over it during extreme cold and it would be well worth the space it takes in your pocket

Too Short

I like the material and construction; it's soft and thick. It is warm and is effective at temperatures in the teens and winds around 30 mph. The thickness of the material helps prevent my breath from instantly condensing and moistening the fabric. I never got the "wet dog" smell wet wool is known for. Its fit is a little tight but not prohibitively so. The color matches that of the beanie. It's too sort to be considered versatile. In wind I had to choose between shielding my neck or my face. I HIGHLY recommend you not machine wash and dry. Hand wash it and let it dry naturally.

Nice for the money

Nice but not the most comfortable and came with an interesting smell. I with it was a bit thicker but the build quality is nice and it does look nice. For the price, I'd buy again. I use it primarily for skiing.
